Our philosophy is decorations up two weeks before Christmas and down two weeks after Christmas and the Christmas spirit (as in Christ's teachings) all year round.
Works for us.

Years back when I had a house with an unfinished basement , I had a design for a trap door and winch , to drop it through and let it collect dust downstairs till next season .
Now we're in the coach for Christmas a 15 " tall ceramic tree the fits nicely in a 2 cube moving box is all we need .
