Park Model Air Conditioner

I know to some this is not considered “camping” but we are at the park model “stage of life”. Does anyone know anything about air conditioners for park models? I found a used park model that I fell in love with until I heard it has a rooftop air conditioner. I don’t know much about park models but I am guessing this is not a popular option. Any input?

Park models are just heavier and bigger rv's, the components are basically the same. Rooftop air conditioning is going to be the standard on all of them unless it has been modified.

Many park model RVs come with, or are later fitted with "basement" air conditioners. They most often are built without holding tanks, as they get plumbed in to park services. Most of them have actual flush toilets and full size appliances. They aren't made to be moved around once they're set up on a site, and most of them require at least a 2 ton (Ford F550, GM 5500, etc.) truck to move them. Many of the newer park models even have pitched roofs and asphalt or composition roof shingles, along with vinyl siding. The main difference between a park model RV and a single wide mobile home is that RVs are usually limited to 400 square feet of floor space.
A roof air conditioner used to be pretty standard, but has since become more of a leak waiting to happen.

The park that we winter in has 2 sections with Park Models.
All the Park Models in this park have shingled hip roofs, and external A/C Heat Pumps (similar to your s&b A/C).

There also what are referred to as "Destination Trailers". These are more like an oversized RV with Roof mounted A/C, RV furnace and LP bottles on the tongue. Not designed to be moved like an RV.
