Parking garage

I looked for a better section to put this, but could not find one.

This spring we will be adding onto my shop to make a covered parking area for my new toy hauler.

The roof is going to be a "lean-to" off the side of the shop. The low side will be 14' high and it will be 45' long. We live in the PNW where we get a few feet of snow and we usually have a couple weeks of extreme cold per year. I will be adding an RV pedestal for power.

The real question is about how much of it to enclose. I was originally just going to have the 3 sides open. I started thinking that covering the outside would give more protection to the RV. I am worried that if I do just 2 sides it will create a wind tunnel.

In reality I probably just need something to keep snow off of the RV.

I would completely enclose it and add a door. Keep the sun off of it and the critters out.

It would be nice for sure, but not even close to in the budget.

Put the basic structure up now and plan on upgrades as you can see fit. Anything over the unit is better than nothing. It's a good start.

Orientate the closed sides toward the weather and prevailing winds. Make your plans so you can close the other sides in as your budget allows. Any county ordinances and permits involved? Make sure.

If you're on a tight budget , you could cover the sides with landscaping cloth. If you get it on nice an tight , it won't look too bad. It will keep out the rain and snow . I have a lean-to on the side of my shop with 3 sides open. It fills with snow when its windy in the winter.

Thanks for the input.

There will be minimal permits, probably just the one for power.
