I think if he would of waved the 28 mil he could have stayed. Great Guy. If I was in his shape, no money worth getting my neck cracked for good. He should have enough banked to get by on for a few years.

Mr. Manning is here in Miami Beach right now and his arrival and travel around Miami was covered live on the TV news. Can you spell, desparate. Dwayne Wade twitted an invitation to tonights Heat game and sports reporters are gushing about how much money the Dolphins owner has. Rumors are rampant. It is a shame that he was not treated with the respect he earned in Indianapolis, no statute, so street naming, no proclamations, etc. He did build a team and help attract funds for a new stadium there. Even if he has only one good season left in his bones it will be enough for the Dolphins who haven't had a winning season in years. Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

enuff's enuff when the millions per season quits rolling in. Archie didn't raise no fools.

Paytons not finished yet, he is still worth plenty to several teams.

I think the dream job would have been to remain in Indy as offensive coordinator. Unfortunately, they don't have a head coach yet, and the new coach will want to pick his own....Too bad he still wants to play - Luck is one of the few guys who can play a manning-style offense and Payton would be a perfect teacher.

You have to build an offense around his unique talents, and when he's not there, the remaining offense will be unable to adjust. Heck, it'll take two seasons for the new offense to adjust, although I've heard rumors of Reggie Wayne maybe going along as a pair. That would certainly be a threat - the D will always cover Reggie and Payton will throw the other way.

free agency is just around the corner. Me thinks Peyton is pre shopping a team so they have a chance to acquire complimenting players to join whatever team Peyton signs with. Hopefully he stays on the east coast (Dolphins or Jets) Would be a hoot if he got to the post season
