RE the CPAP
For about the past five years we have been going to a NASCAR race each year and had a friend go along with us who used a CPAP machine each night. I got a permit to run my generator overnight to power his machine. Our friend was sleeping in my son's camper.
I used one of my Honda 2000W generators. We had my coach and my son's camper parked side by side on our sites and plugged both units into the generator. This would run the CPAP and keep our batteries charged with no issue and the generator only used about one gallon of gas for over eight hours of use.
Before anyone asks. We did not abuse the privilege of being allowed to run our generator after 11 PM which is "quiet time". No external lights or stereo.
Yes, the generator is more costly than an inverter but it is reliable and more flexible if you are allowed to run one. At ten feet from our generator you couldn't hear it anyway. The refer trucks, storing ice, spread about the camping areas will drown any portable generator out.
