Rend Lake in So. IL was suggested as a possible GC site, and Martin & I will check it out. There are lots of places in that part of the state that are gorgeous, but we don't know yet about big rig friendliness or rally halls.
The CG at Stirling, west of Chicago, was also mentioned. What was the name of that one again, please?
Doing all this reconnoitering will be a great excuse to break in the new Jeep. We can't tow it until M. Is fit to fit the base plate and auxiliary brake system anyhow. Any excuse to drive it around will be a pleasure.
Jeep, Jeep, Jeep!!! Can't wait, gotta wait, can't wait ....!!!
Cheers!
Sue

I'm so glad Dave provided Mousse a forever home. Thanks, Poobah!

How cute is that?? All the cute mascots got me thinkin' that I haven't wasted any money this week. So I decided to choose a mascot for our Bounder. Naturally, my first inclination was to get a stuffed Kangaroo, but then I decided to go for a Texas icon instead.
I just ordered "Tex", the armadillo. He will be here in time for our next trip in June.

First let me get some business out of the way,
Shara- took some time before I realized your screen name but loved the snake in the window. Enjoyed visiting with ya'll.
Les- looks good, shine it up and get ready this crowd could come to tour back yard!
Herb- if you need help becoming an Arkie I'll give you Hog Calling lessons!
Marty and Bob- glad you made it home before 9pm.
Elvis Crew (Ginny, Jim, Sandee and Don) don't get all shuck-up!
Everyone else- I'll get you next round.
Now my rant, had slide out motor brake yesterday. Called Power Gear since they made the broken part and was confronted with the rudest person I've ever experienced answering a phone for a company. They were absolutely no help dispite the fact telling them I'm broke down in a park with one bar of phone service and no Internet to e-mail him with.
Strick one-Power Gear broke!
Strick two-Rude Service person!
Strick three-absolutely no service provided, not even a dealer I could call in the area, told I could find that on the web sit!!
Rant over!
Have a great day, will check in when we can!

Sorry you're having trouble, Tim. I'm actually surprised that you got anyone to answer the phone at Power Gear; they usually handle customer "support" via email. Really comforting when you're broke down someplace and no internet.
I'm glad the GC@CL was such a roaring success, but I'm green with envy. We will be at the next one for sure!!

Oh Tim wish you weren't having slide problems. Now you can take the Texan out of the state but you will never take the Aggie out of the transplant. So..thanks but I will pass on the hog callin lessons.

Yes those We were challenged to try to figure out what to do with them. They are too small for dentures, so no tooth fairy
It won't hold my comb or my cell phone...
Maybe you put smell good stuff in it. Maybe it's a pillow the gnome that lives in our basement.

That stinks! We had our slide motor and brake just replaced before out last trip. It was covered under my extended warranty and took them about 4 hours to change. I personally like independent RV repair shops, but they try to rip you on the parts (well so would a dealer but....)

Good guesses, every one!
Did you see Tim's and my answers for you back a few pages? It's all there!
If you don't find them, get back to me and all will be revealed.
Cheers!

Wow, only 35 posts until we get to number fifteen thousand. This thread is as amazing as the people on it -- extra mouthy that is!

Having a blast, my wonderful Dwayne surprised me with a trip to the happiest place on earth.
I think Dolly Parton should be an honorary mutant
