Been there twice. The area is really nice - lots of places to go and do things.

Yes, a good place. We stay there a few days every time we pass through. Visited Old Mesilla the night before Christmas one time. Every local was dressed up in "goin' to church" finery. The whole area is scenic southwest.

Good suggestion Wayne, and the park would probably welcome mutants as long as we didn't mess up the manicured gravel parking.

Thanks Sylvia - Annie had our rings in a little box of angels with gold halos. Our neighbors son Dutch was the ring bearer.

Ha Herb, how is things in CA? Is there any special procedure to cross into CA?

Many years ago in a 18 wheeler I thought I was going to have to give blood to cross the state line. Do you have to stop at any special places for inspection in MH?

We have terrordactyls that like to destroy things. I throw untreated pine 2x4 pieces into their cages. I had a foster cockatoo just like that one. She would snuggle with me and chase Mary through the house trying to bite her feet. Mary was not as amused as I was.

LOL --- birds are awesome creatures. The one in the pic looked like a determined sort....

Even my orange cheeked cockatiels could eat through a 2 X 4 if left to it.... but that was years ago - no pets now but here there is a bird sanctuary in McAllen or Mission a few miles from where we will spend the winter. Going to see what we can see there...!

Things in CA are just great! 65 degrees today and overcast but no rain. Sun returns tomorrow for the rest of the week. Highs mid 70's and lows upper 60's........ohhhhyeeaaaa.

Actually we went thru three different check points getting here. Border patrol on high alert everywhere. Never seen anything like it. They are thick from El Paso to CA. All they ask is if your an American Citizen. I told em I was but wasn't sure about the wetback in the co- pilots seat. Yes she threw something at me! LOL
Anyway the lines at the checkpoints moved fast so it wasn't bad.

We are gonna a spend the week here checking out the city before the kids arrive next weekend for the tourney. Lookin forward to a visit to the famous San Diego Zoo. Y'all try to stay cool and we will be thinkin of ya.

Steve and Annie listen for a toast in your honor around dinner time. We'll be the mutants on the warf at a seafood restaurant raising a glass to our newlywed buds.

Thanks, I must have missed them. You both look very happy. Congrats again.

For a bunch of old folks, this thread sure does move pretty fast.
