I would prefer it to be out of passerby view.
I actually had that happen to me in a Sam's parking lot. It was next to impossible to release the brakeaway device due to where it is located in my car's tiny front end with the tension on the mechanism.

Once home, I disconnected the cable line that was around break pedal and then made a loop of brakeaway cable that I placed around the brake pedal. The connection between the cable going to the front of the car and the loop around the pedal is a tiny padlock. If it ever gets yanked again, all I have to do is unlock the padlock and I'll have plenty of slack to work with.

I don't know of anyplace to put the breakaway line that would be safe from being activated while the car is parked, but I did make it easier to fix. But your breakaway system might work different than mine.

I think we're on the same page now... with this system there is a pully attached to the brake pedal. If the breakaway is pulled - engaged - the brake pedal is pulled / applied and well... I assume like yours - locked up tighter than Waynes wallet.

I realize the likelihood of shenanigans is low - but I get that having an unobstructed view of / path for the thing to travel is important... so we shall see. Having a spare may be the least of the problems... but it's a start...

Not knowing any better months ago when I made our plan I only booked to arrive the 14th depart 20th but we are either going to Charleston, Surf City or somewhere with good weather for the beach. We will be killing time till mid Oct. OR when newest grand arrives!

Again, you will be able to spot my coach, it looks like a mutant!

Hahaha. DW loves not having to cook! Visa is taking a lickin!

Kitchen update:

Cabinets are almost all in. Granite being cut and polished tomorrow. Granite install Thursday. Plumbers Friday.
Bonnie loves the self-closing doors and drawers. Thermal engraved doors, easy to clean. Upper cabinets are full height.

Here are some progress photos.
