You made me laugh and I couldnt think of a come-back. ;-)

The 2000 Newmar Dutch Star could actually work for us. I was distracted by a flirty '02 National Dolphin Chevy Workhorse gasser for a minute ... till Steve bopped me in the head and said, "Uhhhh...no, Mel! What are ya thinkin'???"

So I went back to the Newmar and realized it is WAY more solidly built, classy, etc. Not that the Dolphin was bad ... but it's not a Newmar. The Dutch Star has the 275 Cummins w/Allison tranny.(Don't know if it has the 2000 or 3000 Allison.)

It will need 6 new tires immediately (cha-ching ... $4,000-$5,000). Has hookups for w/d, but no w/d ... (cha-ching, $700-$1500.)

Pluses are numerous. But CCC a bit low at around 3,500 lbs. Maybe due to all the solid oak woodwork in the coach? Lots of it. A LOT of storage. Does have 2 slides. :-) Exterior pretty clean. Very minimal fading for a coach of its age.

Going to look at raising our price point by about $10k. Maybe find a coach with newer, good tires and a w/d already installed.

Thank, Steve, for the help and encouragement today.

Ken, any thoughts?

Music starts ...Lullabye, and goodnight...

Mel,

Just a quick thought. If everything else checked out on the coach, new tires and a new W/D would be less than raising your price point 10K. Plus you will have good tires for at least 5-7 years, so you should really amortize that cost over that period. IMHO

Now get some rest. I know you're all wound up.

Wayne I was on the eastern shore of md. Now we are on the road. But that salt water did some damage. To the coach's wiring. Had to rewire genny. And pig tail to toad and the front turn signal in the bumper rusted out and fell off and went under the tire. I fixed every thing so let's hope that's it!

Thank you... she is our only GD....so we do spoil her.

As far as not getting DDG guess I was running at 2 G just a little slow on the uptake.

Regional GC or larger mini-GCs will get more popular as more mutants experience mutantism at the next GC and have a hankering for more encounters with like-minded people.

Bring on the fun.

Exactly what i woke up thinking...... Campfire..... Listening to stories...

Ouch! One of the things I worry about living on the Gulf Coast.

Just checkin' in! Friday was a rare warm 70s day (for this time of year), so we did the trailer winterization. Now back to 50 as the high and close to freezing at night. All downhill temp-wise from now on! On the plus side, nothing to fix. Lots of trips this past summer and all systems performed flawlessly.

Great news on memories made, now the anticipation starts for next year!

Stay tuned to listen to all the Texans complain about freezing in the 50's! Lol

If we even want to consider bringing the Band back - they will need to come in on Saturday and leave on Sunday. The party the last night (SATURDAY before checkout is a terrible thought to me...) and the first night is just as bad.

They are money grubbing... and I suspect if we can build our numbers and get to em early they will give us the discount rate for the night or two before and after the dates... maybe not but let's work on numbers - and if we have to send Tim and Guido over there to tune em up we can... just pondering out loud... 😎
