Good morning all. Steve,, get up and at em.... I know Annie prolly is running full steam ahead....

Diane toftSFM#64....... (The Original Fast Talking Sliding Finger Mutant) and is retired, duh!

'Mornin all! Top o' the rainbow to ye!

I was checking in periodically last night till I finally shut my baby blues at 3:00. Not too much going on, funnily enough. Later, I was afraid to post for fear it would wake someone up, you know, folks who have their gizmos set to chime on incoming posts.

Sometimes a book is too good to put down, ya know? And, not being sleepy, I spun a little bit, and then took some recently dyed skeins of cotton yarn and made them into balls. Still not sleepy. Aaarrrrgh! A few card games later and boredom finally took over the eyelids and pulled them down.

Slept in this morning. Odd that. 😉

More crates have been readied to stow in Bella and more yet to fill. All my downtime now is spent trying to remember what I mustn't forget. Y'all know what that's like. Lists and more lists.

Tea now and then back to it. Congrats to our newest SD residents. Now get a move on! NPI.

CHEERS!

Love the Parker quote. She was my dad's favorite poet, which is how I came to know her work.

On burning the candle at both ends:

"Ah my friends and ah my foes,
It gives a lovely light."

Morning mutants.

So.. I have been pondering why " someone" would become a SD resisdent if they were a Texan... Thought TX was one of the top three states????

Texas, SD and FL are the top 3 I was told. I chose SD because they don't require vehicle inspections in order to get license plates. I also picked a small rural town, Emery, because of lower insurance rates.

I did a paper on her in high school... I was left with the impression she was a lonely sad type lady....

Oh, good, we're back!

That's what I remember about Ms. Parker, too. Embittered, even. Wasn't she a member of the Algonquin Round Table, though? That seemed a very social group, but who knows what the dynamics were.

Still, her poetry lives on, even such minor ones as:

"Men seldom make passes
At girls who wear glasses."

😎

2 primary reasons - 1. TX has state inspections on cars and motor homes. SD does not.

2. Motorvehicle tax 6.25% - SD 3%.

Also DL is good for Cars, Motor homes, Light trucks and Vespas so when Annie finally gets behind the wheel of Bonita she will be legal.

Only Livingston Texas - Escapees - allows for Personal Mail Box as legal residence. Several choices in SD and we really liked the looks of Sioux Falls SD. Plus I like to day Minnehaha. And, it proved to be a very nice place. Even enjoyed the dried corn fields of Iowa as we drove to the Casino.

I know the Texans will disagree with me on this - but SD hospitality puts Texas hospitality to shame. Texans b and moan about out of staters coming to Texas. In SD they make it easy to become a resident whether ya live there or not and everyone is glad to see you. And that's just the start of it...

All things considered - ya can go full time using your brothers cats name and address on Timbuk3 - but I like SD and have been there many times. They seem to want full timers there and that worked for us. Now the issues they are having with health care is a shame - but I suspect it will work out. For us - we're covered by Tricare and if I find I need it - my company retiree plan from Aetna.

We are closer still. Turned in the Cable Boxes today, took some old metal to the gold and silver exchange... change of address cards turned in, last minute items from the bike shop. And Annie stayed home and packed up a bathroom and a more things. Progress..!!
