That is a true story Steve, hey guess what, I was the lucky guy that had my transfer switch finally quit. Luckily my sisters significant other swapped it out for cocktails after completion, so now all the power is going through new components.

I also wish to welcome our newest Mutants, you have joined a merry band indeed ....

Cheers !!!

Howdy, Mutants far and wide! No time to do ketchup reading, but wanted to report in.

We have been stuck at an authorized Tiffin service Center in Michigan since Tuesday morning, learning more about mutating! (Joy's Hydro-hot decided to stop heating water last week.) When we finally got into a service bay, it was late afternoon. After a couple of hours into it, the technician told us we needed a part. Our service coordinator, Miike, said they couldn't order it until the next morning since it was after 6:00 pm already.

No worries. They have 50amp hookups, so we could spend Tuesday & Wed nights. Part would arrive around 11:00am on Thursday and they would have us on our way by 4:00 or so that day. So we killed time on Wed. and woke up Thurs. morning excited to get the repair done and get back to my sons in south central MI.

Thursday, 11:00am came and went and no part. Mike called the factory in CO and was told that there had been a problem with the UPS plane and our part would arrive Friday. Yet another night on their parking lot. But we were mutating all along and looking for the silver lining. Stayed upbeat and joked about the fact that we stupidly left our car at the RV park in Jackson. (Long story. But we thought this was going to be an in-and-out deal!)

Friday, at 11:00am, the part arrived. At 1:45 Joy was put into a bay and the technician went to work. But at 3:00, Mike told us that the tech found a broken part inside the tank. Kate looked like she was going to cry. I went numb. Mike laid out our options. We opted for him to call CO and get them to overnight the needed part, even though it was 5 minutes past their cut off time for overnight orders. He called, begged politely, then gave us thumbs up. So, we are hoping like crazy that the part gets here and the technician can get it all put together and in working order so we can get back to my sons.

Oh, the "joys" of fulltiming! But we have enjoyed playing a dozen games of Cribbage, 10 games of gin rummy, 2 games of Scrabble, 7 games of progressive rummy, watching the entire first seasons of Battlestar Galactica and Arrested Development, taking daily walks, and having dinner once at a great Italian restaurant down the road. (The name escapes me at the moment.) We are Mutants. We cannot be defeated by mere hydro-hot problems!!! Besides, they were able to fix a few other minor things during our week here! And, we have an appointment to return in a few weeks and have Joy's slide toppers fabric replaced. See? Its all good! We're good!

End of report.

(Di and Larry, hope to see y'all in the UP or somewhere while we're all here!)

My goodness... well, I hope you don't forget to return for your car...are you having to pay for the parking space at the campground where it is parked?

I think you folks are dealing with it just fine, just too bad no car. You are both full timers now, there shouldn't be any schedules, just time to relax and smell the roses!

Mohhhmmmms to Joy and its quick return to the rainbow.

Hope all goes well for ya. You know what they say 'third time's the charm'

I've done the shots, at least six sets of three over 15 years. I've done PT until the PTs said my back is too unstable and they're scared to keep trying. In the last surgery they removed parts of four vertebrae, leaving me with Cs instead of Os. The massage therapist said nope, no way, not safe. Sorry, don't trust chiropractors, not with a back this abnormal. So, I'm left with two choices - Duke or Johns Hopkins. I'm meeting with the spine team - neurology, orthopedics, PT, OT, etc. I am hoping they have a viable plan. The tipping point for me is being unable to get in the motor home. On bad days, I'm stuck inside, and that's not why we camp.

Hey Mel & Kate,

We wondered where you were, and it reads like you are handling it just fine sans car. We did that once, and now if the coach moves, the Jeep goes with us. Marcia and I will be here till the 15th then we begin heading west again, with a time frame of finding AZ in mid October.

Cheers !!!

We let the RV park know about our situation, but since the car is parked in our RV site, yes, were paying for the spot. But it's only $100 a week. (Not the greatest campground, but the closest to both my sons. And it has fhu. Just lots of permanent residents there, some of whom don't keep up their RVs. Which is too bad, because the campground is in a beautiful, rural setting.)

The RV dealer/service center does not charge for a spot on their parking lot with electric hookup I beleve they have 4 or 5 spots for people here for service,, all with 50 amp. They come get us and drive us in a bay when they're ready for us and when they're done they take us back to a site and hook us up. They're great folks, which helps!

Carl, thanks for the Mohhhhms! Hopefully, they will get Joy's Hydro-hot fixed this afternoon and have us on our way!

Hey..... Does anyone know anything about putting a chip in the motor for more power.... Larry had gotten one for the old rv, never used it, so he was gonna put in the Berk..... He has been looking all over the internet trying to get information.... So he finally went against his male instinct and sent a pm to someone on IRV2..... He didnt say who, but whoever, that person blew him off, told him to google it.......
Yea... Like he hadnt already..... This is why I hardly ever get in irv forum... I only check in here, where i know people....
