Sorry to hear that Di... scary isn't it. Hugs and prayers for your DIL and her family.

Time to get this show on the road! I'll be sending nightly updates to the email list. I promise to make these more interesting than last Spring's boring missives.

Didn't you Kanuckistanis get Wagon Train? And remember Rawhide with Clint Eastwood when he was a young hunk? Seems like there were more westerns WAY back then than any other genre. Bonanza, Pallidin, Bat Masterson, Gunsmoke -- I know I'm missing some.

Ohmmms to DIL and family. That has to be hard. At least Meso is a cancer that comes with a paycheck. Not that any amount could ease their pain.
Yes, the double went away, but I don't know how it went either way. All this high level computer stuff is over my head. Wait! It's all high level

What a crazy, busy year so far. We've covered the Gulf of Mexico, Atlantic, Pacific and now the Rocky Mountains. LOL
We are kinda stuck for a few days in Denver fixing a sick motor. It kinda goes like this...
We are sitting in the parking lot of a Cummins shop in Denver, CO. We are waiting until tomorrow morning for them to start work on the motor. On the sliding scale of “OH CRAP”, starting small and working up, we have; a leaking exhaust gasket, possible warped exhaust manifold and maybe need to replace the turbo. There is also the chance that the head is warped and must also be replaced.
Anything up to the point of replacing the turbo should be done by Friday as long as my service contract holder can get an inspector out to approve the repairs. If the head is warped, then we think they will get started by Monday and be done by Wednesday of next week.
That could mean up to 7 days out of our home and into a hotel. That also means nearly the same situation for Zeus in a boarding facility. There are not many hotels that allow dogs that I would want to stay in. Now the challenge is how to pack stuff for up to 7 night in a hotel.
So, fortunately, our service contract will keep us out of the poor house but we will have a significant chunk of change to cover the deductible. Also, my contract only covers $80/hr labor and it is $140 at this shop. However, this is something we have planned for so we will just make it work.
In the mean time, I have some really exciting news I will share in another post.

I bet none of you have found you have a family you never knew you had. I'll try to make this short and semi-mutant relevant. LOL
Long story short, after DNA comparisons with other members of Ancestry.com I found out the dad that raised me was not my biological father. I just turned 62 and nothing really shocks me any more so I took this news in stride. Here is the cool part.
I'm RVing all over the country and little over 2 months ago I'm in Colorado Springs, CO for a few days on my way to Pueblo for the Newmar Rally. As this unfolds I find that I'm 5 minutes away from where my Bio-dad worked as a fireman, 15 minutes from where he is buried after passing in 2000, and within an hour of 2 new half sisters and their mom.
It took me a couple months to get back to Denver because of the rally and a 6 week caravan after it but here we are. A few days ago we have a 1/2 family "reunion" and what a great time we had. I also found my bio-dad was an avid RVer too!
I could spend a day explaining just how this all came to pass. The key was that my DNA did not connect with my father's side of things. My dad, bio-dad and mom were all stationed at the same AF station in NJ. The coincidental thing was that the niece of my bio-dad was looking for her bio-dad and we matched up on Ancestry.com. A pure stroke of luck and timing.
You just never know where an RV can take you and what you might find.

^^^^ Well Don, you sure saved up stuff for a great re-entry here!
Sad stuff on the engine (but just a part of the life we lead) and some really cool stuff on the family side!

What an interesting story.
Now get out of Colorado before it gets real cold. (After all is fixed - that is bad news about the RV.)
