Welcome klc! Looks like you have jumped in with both feet, which is the only way to do it! Just watch who you hang out with here. Wayne might try to trick you into thinking he is a Unicorn. He's not, but there are similarities. (Don't ask.)

We have kids in Jackson, MI and since we retired in February and started fulltiming in March, we plan to spend May and June in MI every year til they have to take the RV keys away from us. We also have kids in Austin and Dallas, TX, so will be spending time each year there, too.

Perhaps you could suggest a nice RV park east of Jackson? We had a hard time finding anything this year.

See you on the Rainbow!

Yep... with no job a Lego motorhome is about all I can afford now.

Had a great day playing with our DGS, even kidnapped him for the week.

Why's everyone always picking on the Timster, Wayne and I? Barb is a cruising for a bruising donchaknow. I think some of these newbies need to step to the fore and volunteer to be picked on.

Hey Dennis, let's let them get their feet wet first. Besides we know you can take it AND give it back! And as to the threatened bruising -- ya gotta catch me first. Come on down! I dare ya!

Not to be a Scrooge or anything, but is anyone besides me glad that Christmas is now 364 days away? I've heard all the carols I can take, seen way too much tinsel and garland and just ready to get back to "no season" season.

Carl, My mom was from Connecticut, she said many things funny to us midwesterners, and mixed up phrases all the time. I just learnewd from the get go to understand what she meant... and figured everyone from there spoke like that.

We also will come back every summer to see our kids and grandkids. We love our state parks. My grandparents and aunt and uncle lived in grass lake for many years. As for a camp ground that wsy, it's been too long since we've stayed at any to recommend one to you. I'll let you know if I come up with any though.

Thanks, that's my Mom to a T. She even mixes up our names all the time, sometimes a whole list of names will come out before mine!

OK, today is packing day (not a lot), we're heading south tonight!

Yes I still have Lincoln Logs. & who remembers Tinkertoys?

Here in Malvern, the "brick capital" we have saved mini-bricks for years to do some serious building!!!

My DS burnt my blocks of 2x4 scraps I wanted..

I always coveted those really upmarket Tinker Toys, you know, the ones with the winch and other mechanical bits. My set would build a windmill, about its biggest. I spent hours with them. There were still a few left for my boys to play with, but I never made a conscious effort to save the set.

Lincoln Logs passed me by. And 2x4 offcuts? I still grab stuff like that every chance I get.

The most recent grab was for some lovely clean cedar siding offcuts before *someone* put them into the fireplace. Now what can I do with those? Not burn them, for sure!

What will you build w/ your mini-bricks? (There is in England, a saying when something is very sturdily made, that it's "built like a brick sh*t house". You could build a mini-sh*t house....) 😅 And what did you plan for those 2x4 offcuts?

I was an only child, but my 2 boys and the dog were part of the chain of names I would spit out when upset. It bothered them more that their brother was included than that Heidi's name was in there.

Happy Boxing Day!
