Oh my! I can't get my mind to wrap around left, right, right, wrong, keep right, exit when you feel lucky, etc., etc

When we lived in Victoria there was a big meeting about the reinstallation of a huge roundabout at a major multi road intersection. The road engineer was extolling the benefits of roundabouts and couldn't emphasize the benefits enough. Finally an old coot (not me) said, "If there damn things are so great why'd you take the original one out?" The engineer said that all the expats in the area were no longer driving so it was OK to put the unit back in place. The old guy the asked, "So why the problem with the expats?" The answer was; "The refused to not go left when entering!"

Always enjoy pondering finances... so I'm going to need to work harder to make my Sam's Plus card savings cover the annual fee this year. In theory, saving $106.49 in one year should be easy. But I am certain I didn't save that much last year. I don't go there often cause I rarely buy "quantity" and there may or may not be one where land.
I recoup my Amazon Prime fee with no problem year after year and never leave the comforts of home, much less have to bag my purchases in my own bags.

And I'm starting to wonder about a card I have that has the reverse reward on it. That's where I'm so special I'm a universal elite platinum guy with tons of benefits.... provided I pay them $XX Annual Fee, a keep a balance of... I don't feel that special for some reason.

Look at the bottom left as there is a confusing circle route there. The big problem with the intersection shown is actually the signage.

The big left arrow showing < -------- VICTORIA ---------< is located as you are entering the first left circle but it is actually for the out road of the second circle. There is a constant complaint from visitors who keep getting routed back to where they came from.

And here's another one, the first I believe, in the UK and one I have used on occasion. Very easy and free flowing.

Seems a local city has thought lets improve this roundabout design and has added lane dividers to their four lane roundabout (2 lanes leading up to and 2 lanes leading out. ) so now once in the circle you not only have to dodge the other cars but must catch the openings in the lane dividers!

They just opened this up near a new shopping center and it's pretty crazy, causing most to slow to a crawl.
Roundabouts can be fun for geoachers. We did a geocache in Astoria OR in a roundabout. I stopped briefly in the roundabout to let out my passengers and then continued going around in circles until the found the cache and signed the log. I then stopped and let them back in the car. Worked wonders!

Drop the Sam's, get a Costco. I think they are only $50.

All of this and while driving on the wrong side of the road -- truly amazing.

I dropped my Sam's membership when my former employer stopped paying my annual fee. I can't complain --I got 4 extra years after I retired.

But now Costco Executive membership is giving me 4% cash back on fuel. Even at the current cheaper gas prices that's 9-10 cents per gallon at ANY station, not just at Costco gas. That pays the membership fee and then some.

I will not pay any other credit card fees. Too many options out there and I'm cheap.

Every time our bank or credit card co. charges some crazy fee, we DROP it !!

You are right, so many other options & "Cash back bonuses "..

Again, we are going broke getting bonuses back...

One of my biggest grips about Sams Club is, you pay for the privilege to walk in the door. Then when inside you have to be very careful or you'll buy items in bulk that really dosnt save you as much as you think but you've got to store all this stuff now. Your selection on items are fewer, then your forced to stand in line to checkout. Let's face it, if I like to stand in line to check out I can go to WM or Target! We let our membership drop and haven't missed it at all. We don't have a Costco in our area.
