I was intrigued by Judge Bean's carved (woodburned?) walking stick, which had Custer depicted, among others.

Hmm, a stick of 1,000 tales perhaps?

There we are, dwarfed by distance & the landscape, looking across the Rio to the Mexican cliffs:

There should be more sunshine tomorrow as we head toward Terlingua & Big Bend. Alpine seems to be living up to its name ... chilly!

Cheers all, and ommms where they are needed.

Tim, I was in Yuma in late May in order to have dental work in Mexico. Without Reflectix in every window my A/C couldn't keep us comfortable and I was plugged in! I can't fathom what July might be like. I'd suggest that you plan your stops each morning using a weather app. Stop where the temperatures are the least hellish. Flagstaff might be a better choice in AZ. The elevation should help. You may want to rethink boondocking unless you plan to run your genny all night.

We want you and Mary to have some energy left for the GC. Idanha should be pleasant even in August!

Ok, I get it, it's going to be hot in July in south AZ. But I'll be passing through anyway and thought I would stop if only for a day or two. The boondocking will be overnighting back in TX but I understand that the WM in AZ don't allow that so I'm looking for a park to pull in and figured I could kill some time looking around. Remember it gets hot here in AR and it's a wet heat!

I'm wanting to take a route other than I-40 through Flagstaff, been there done that.

Both of them leave a lot to be desired.

Good morning Mutants ....

The ooommmsss generator is still operating on high sending out a multitude of signals to those that need them.
Today is Jack's up and heading to Yuma, tomorrow is a stroll in Algadones, who knows what we might find ...

Cheers !!!

The dry heat is better. It is actually bearable in the shade.

The humid heat is hot everywhere.

That's my take on it. The sun seems to be closest to earth right over AZ. Lol.
