Happy birthday, Mr. Tim, & happy the-roof-held-up day too! Martin read out that your roof got tested, but I heard your roof got *toasted* & was all upset it was your new roof ruined! Whew!
Ah, Arkansas in April. Ain't it grand!

Who would've dreamed it would snow in Texas on the last weekend of April?
It didn't snow in the canyon, but sure as heck got cold!
I sure wish we had known you were coming through the panhandle. We would've dragged youse two down to Palo Duro. Martin, you know I would've made chicken enchiladas for you. (Note to other Mutants: Don't come across I-40 and not dip down to see us at Palo Duro Canyon State Park!)

Wayne says we are 30 miles from you...is that Palo Duro? Crumbs! Can we convince Martin to deviate from plan?

We spent the next night at Elk Creek park in Elk City OK, good for an overnight stop.
We spent the last 2 nights at Oak Glen RV Park on old route 66 a little ways east of Chandler OK. Nice quiet park.
Now we're at the Big Red Barn RV Park off I-49 just south of Carthage MO for a couple of nights. Another nice park.
Apparently I-44 is temporarily closed about 100 miles east of here due to the weather. We may continue up I-49 to I-70 and east to St. Louis from there.
How about Lake Haven outside of Effingham?

Camp Lakewood... in Effingham, there abouts....
And Woot! Great report Dave. Is the tangs patina growing on ya. I'm still wanting a black and tan.
Keep safe.
Edit... and add... I like driving that part of 70. It's that part between Co and MMDC Resort and a little beyond that's probably the birthplace of all wind in the lower 48...

Tune in tomorrow for another exciting episode of Are You an RV Mutant Too?
Will Sue and Martin find Mel and Kate. Will Dave and Carol slow down enough for Sue and Martin to ketchup? Will the rainbow be born from the cheeks of the unicorn. These and other exciting adventures are coming your way.
Where the heck is Toy Duck?

Hey Tim, I'm also sorry I missed your birthday. It's just that I hate to see old men cry getting older.
A belated one for sure.

Oh Tim ....
Happy Birthday ......
Happy Birthday ......
Cheers for you !!!!
We are still in Phoenix, our feet are itchy to move, but we promised our daughter that we would stay and help her through the S&B adventure she's on, currently we are waiting for the closing, and then the moving. We have to be in northern Indiana by June 29th and still are going to venture to Palm Springs before we head east. It's been hot and windy here but nothing the Beaver can't handle.
And Steve I have two sinks you can cry in either one or both and then we can replenish with Ameretto and Ginger Beer ... yes ...
Cheers !!!

Thanks for all the BD wishes.
Ran into some old friends the other night while out eating. We were giving them are plans for the summer when they said be sure to call them on way out to California. They have an estate in Apache Junction, AZ and they spend at least a week there each month. Even in the summer, they get away from the humidity found here. They said they have plenty of room, may have to detour a little from our planned route!
Question for those that travel west, how bad is traffic through El Paso, Tx.?
