Like any good mutant, I've altered our journey To the Great RVMooning... provided reservations fall in place, we should venture thusly...
Prescott Valley AZ
Kingman AZ
Las Vegas NV
Ely NV*
Wells NV*
Eden ID
Boise ID
Burns OR
Bend OR
Idanha OR
Dates and places to follow. Seems that Nevada, Idaho and Oregon have lots to offer in day trips, including River Mountain / Idanha.
So I'm thinking - the cutoff for cancelling your reservation to the Mooning (our special swap and hold period) is August 1st (???).
If there are any mutants out there who would like to attend - I believe we have 2 or 3 spots that are available.
Never mind that this is a momentous occasion (A Grande Curiosity in a great location). There is also this thing called a total eclipse happening and we're right in the middle of It!
Put on your mutant thinking caps and figure your way to Idanha 8/17 - 8/23 with some coming earlier and leaving later and vice versa.
Ring in here if you'd like to find yourself being mooned in Oregon!

Same as Dave, I was up, but had stopped checking in here. There were 6 posts left to go last I looked.
Cheers!
PS: Any more cottonwood fluff? I saved some from Wickenburg, AZ, to try spinning it.

No more fluff today. I hope it's done for this year. So, what could you make with cottonwood yarn? Will you remove the tiny seeds?

Steve, I see you are taking the boring route (US 20) from Idaho to Idanha. You have my sympathy, especially for the leg to Burns.
You might want to schedule Eden, ID for over a weekend. That way you'll be more likely to catch some BASE jumpers flying from the Snake River bridge. It's an amazing sight to see humans flying with only a funny looking suit.
The best views are from the south side. There is an easily assessable walkway that goes under the bridge to a viewing area. Many of the jumpers use that parking area. I talked to some once and was surprised that they seemed so sane -- and yet they hurl themselves off bridges. Definitely Mutant.

Boy you are ambitious, Fred! Ok, let's see about when that might be. RVMDom began on 4/14/2013, about 1,506 days ago. 67,012 posts divided by 1,506 days equals about 44.5 posts per day.
We are 32,988 posts short of 100,000. So if the daily average stays at that rate we'll hit that milestone in 741 days or on about June 9, 2019.
I do believe we need to have a few Mutant ponders.

There was a mass migration at the very first GC when a bunch of RVMs met at a campground in Texas (?) and then drove into Catherine's Landing RV park near Hot Springs, AR in mass. I bet someone still has the video.
Could there be a possible replete performance? You'll have to come up with a great idea if you want to out do that entry Jne's flamboyance was particularly memorable.

Short answer: Dunno. Tiny seeds might gave to get lost, as being itch-makers. It may be that the fibers will be too brittle to hold up to the process, as is milkweed fluff.
My feeling is that if it were viable, people would already have been spinning it for centuries. Now feathers, otoh ....

Sue, You think of some interesting things I would never have . I'd ask if you were interested in spinning a friends woll from her alpaca... but that would probably be 'w*rk, and you probably have a million projects that would seem more fun and it wouldn't get done for a few years....
