We did successfully pull off our first camping / fishing trip! Of course, at this age, babies are pretty easy... she just lays there.. and is either eating or sleeping...
This trip DID start me thinking about a bigger RV though...

Hey Dave,
After Mt Rushmore you should check out the Crazy Horse monument in the making. It's SE of there if I remember correctly. At night they have an amazing laser light and music show on the Monument.

Hoot!
Bob and I drove over to Ottawa where they have the oldest still functioning Movie Theater and tourred the little museum they have in back of the screens.. then found a nice little Italian place to eat called Luigi's, and I found out, if yu go when they aren't too busy, you can bring your own gluten free pasta and the chef will cook that for you. They make all their own stuff, so no worry about gluten in the marinara sauces, etc. You can even ask they not dredge your chicken in the flour on some of the dishes, lots of Italian seafood options too. Forgot to ask what the house Merlot brand was, but it was really good! I've been tip toing into a little dairy, and have tried cream cheese plain without consequences, so tonight, because I didn't know all these other things, I had the fresh mozz/tomatoes dish and a bowl of Minestrone and left the noodles behind but gave Bob the tortillini's from it. Then we went to the old movie theater and watched the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie, which he said was silly... my response was... aren't they all? (Any thing with Johnny Depp in it is fine by me!) All in all we had a really nice evening... I'll edit from my phone and give POP.

Annie and I stayed at the Historic Franklin Hotel and the Bullock Hotel on various trips. It was easy to park the B-Van across from hotel... not so much today with Bonita. We stayed at State Game Lodge another trip through. Had some gambling luck but mostly the free cocktails won.
I have a history of beating the heck out of an area. I couldn't get enough of South Dakota, Yellowstone, Tetons New Mexico, Colorado. I'm finding I still want give everywhere we go a good visit and move on, knowing or at least assuming I'll go back. But tick tock. Tick tock. So how and where we spend our days becomes a more weighty matter. Wherever ya go, there ya are.

Stay well muteys. Enjoy that sweet thing. Remember to enjoy those years before they know everything there is to know. That's about age 16 for boys, 15 for girls.

When you travel through Custer SP I really hope you enjoy the Begging Burros. Have some Cheetos with you and you'll have a ball.
And the Black Hills, especially Highway 87, The Needles Highway BUT DEFINITELY not with a Motor home.
First picture is a bus that makes it through the cut on the Needles Highway.
Second picture is not DW but it is a view directly out my side of the car window.
Have fun.
