Steve, got a off topic question!
You have an electric smoker that fits in your bays, what brand is it and what size. If I remember correctly you can set time and temp on the controls and it does the rest. Been thinking of getting a small one but many are analogy elements with no timers and wasn't sure how happy I would be with that.

So far the one with the digital electronics have been too large for the room I have. Of course I may be remembering wrong since I haven't seen you since Bryce.

Good Morning Mutants near and far! The air temp in the tires is 54 degrees on the shady side... chilly this morning.

We have 125 mile jaunt up to Twin Falls this morning where we settle in for 15 nights. Barb recommends the area for a week so we took 2 weeks and the extra day was due to the availability at our next stop down the road. Looking forward to exploring southern Idaho. Not sure how far north we will venture when we move to Boise area July 8th. Looks like the Guiding light of the rainbow will put us within 50 miles of Mike and Harriet that week. Could it be a MiniC our in our future? I do believe so!

By the numbers. . .

1.) Good golly Man! I didnt log on for one day and there has been five pages of posts since then?!?!
You people move fast. I feel like a minor league player on the field with the NY Yankees.

2.) Thank you to all for the barrage of hospitality.
(currently making arrangements to have RVM159 tattooed across my chest)

3.) Hey geocacher, Once the DW and I get rolling (1/2/2018 if she actually retires) we will indeed be 'off the leash' and heading west.

Jake, in January you might want to head south and swing back north in the Spring. One of the best parts about RVing is being able to pick your climate. Many of us spend the winter in southern AZ -- Yuma and Quartzsite.

If you and your DW don't have passports, I'd suggest you get them. Passport cards are cheaper and all you need to return home from Mexico or Canada. Border hopping south of Yuma is tons of fun and and you'll find lots of bargains.

If you'll add your state to the left column, you'll be more likely to arrange a mini-C with traveling Mutants. We pop up in the strangest places.

1.) At the tender age of 61, I’ve never gone anywhere except back & forth to work every day.
Thus I’m not sure I even know how to travel, no less where to go.

2.) Yes, Passports.
The DW keeps reminding me and I keep putting it off. Will do!

3.) A mini-C… Good thing you sent me that RVM secret decoder list, otherwise I’d have no idea what you were talking about.

Sorry about the numbered lists but being organized is a difficult habit to break. I Just retired a few months ago after working a lifetime in electrical engineering. The transition has been tricky... and to make matters worse I'm getting addicted to these little smiley things that I can insert into my posts.
Regards,
-Ej-

Jake, I was always the person who stayed behind to take care of everything. Retirement allowed me to see some of this wonderful country. Taking a different route and exploring at my own pace is priceless to me so I boondock or park at relatives or friends homes most of the time. My 25' Moho will fit just about anywhere. The big Rainbow riders need more space so most use campgrounds. There is only one way to RV -- your way! You'll find many adventures when you figure that out.

Speaking of which, for all you RVM's that have not heard my theme song, just send it to the mailing list on the alternative method of communications and I would be more than happy to send it to you.

It's a wonderful theme song.

Don't need not stinkin' timer on a smoker, just get a timer the smoker plugs into. When time is up electricity stops flowing, smoker is off. Sheesh! Backwoods Arkies! You have to open the lid to the box and look outside once in a while.

Have no fear Jake, many on here are just like many of the DW's and would be happy to tell you where to go!

My big Sis & brother-in-law are long time RVers. They have a Class-A pusher. It’s basically a Geryhound bus, (and way out of my league).
Upon their retirement they sold their house and went full-timing.

Heh-heh...
She looks at my little truck-camper and says; “most places I go wont even let that thing in the front gates”
I then tell her that “most of the places I go you couldnt get to without 4 wheel drive and a decent WARN winch”

As an example...
My idea of RV relaxation is not exactly Class-A pusher territory.

I guess everybody’s RV Nirvana is different.

True that, Jake!
RVMdom consists of RVs of every variety. Every RVM Mutates uniquely!
But the Rainbow is consistent.

So Jake, I'm guessing your passenger said "if you're gonna drive up there, I'm getting out and walking. That way I can call for help when the truck rolls over."

Tempting fate just a bit? You need to go rock crawling with Dwayne. He took me over some knarly trails, but at least there wasn't any snow.

Hey All ... !!!

And a warm welcome to you Jake, you will not be sorry you hopped on board, not one bit.

Ooommmsss to those that need them, and yes Dwayne that includes you 100% !!!

We left North Platte Nebraska today and landed in Council Bluffs Iowa to boondock overnight in a Sam's lot with a nice breeze and a very quiet spot. Tomorrow we will make a small jog to a casino campground in Osceola Iowa for a few days of relaxation, slowly lollygagging our way to the first wedding of this summer in Ft. Wayne Indiana. Life is Good, and riding the Rainbow is great.

Cheers !!!

Tim... my smoker isn't electric. It burns lump charcoal and wood. I do have a Maverick 733 wireless thermometer and meat probe. That's why I have to stay near the smoker all day. If the temp goes to high or too I have to adjust the dampers and or add wood.

The pellet smokers I've seen are too big for the bays also. Mine is the Smokey Mountain 18 inch model by Weber.
