BTW doc... we may drive over to American Falls in a day or two. Any recommendations on the overall area... we could feasibly day trip Pocatello.
I'm not sure how far it is from you, but Craters of the Moon would be a good trip.

It's 2 hours, which is doable. The only thing against it is it's kind of a dead end. Nothing much between here and Arco, other than Craters, nothing much else in Arco and no way back.

It's a ponder for sure.

Might bring a Zebco if it's not too costly, been running trotlines for weeks now. Real toss up on who's the best help, Mary or the GS!

Not sure what kind of fish they have there!
The fish are trout and I think this is the fee info

I'll ask Laurie if she knows anything about free fishing.

Just don't stay overnight at Craters. We did and the resident vermin, aka marmots, tried to get into the RV by scratching at the underside. That sent Lily into a barking frenzy. I finally moved to the visitor center parking lot at 2 am so we could get some sleep.

Thanks for info. I don't remember where I saw the reference to non license fishing was at, at the time I wasn't interested so I didn't make any notes.

We'd drive the car up but again, have to see how time plays out.

That's simply marvelous. Consider the ohms generator started and running at max power. Queen Ann deserves all the good health she can get.

Idaho is beautiful in so many ways but the problem for people is it being so remote. A very long drive would be to Craters of the Moon, then Arco (first city in the world to be powered by nuclear power), on up and over to Stanley Idaho (surronded by the Sawtooth Nat'l Rec area and near the geometric center of Idaho) and then down to Sun Valley which is famous in its own right. This drive would take about 8 hrs without any stops. It would take you by Borah Peak, the highest mountain in Idaho at 12,662 ft and the Sawtooth Mountains which are beautiful. As a kid, I went to church camp between Sun Valley and Ketchum. The girls stayed on the Sun Valley side and the boys tried to Ketchum.
