Can we boondock in the small towns that we pass through once we're inside of the state of Oregon? I really don't want to drive for 12 -14 hours because there's no place to "hold up" for a night.

Steve, I found there is almost always a place that you can stay 1 night. I look on Google's satellite view for large parking lots that are not in a mall. Mall's have nightime security that will chase you away. Churches, schools during summer months, closed businesses and even grocery stores are good places to try. If there is someone around I'll ask permission. For 1 night nobody has ever said no.

We stayed in a parking lot behind businesses in John Day and a large turnout along the river about 2 miles north of the John Day Fossil Beds visitor center and a city park parking area in Prineville this last trip. We took the scenic route, US 26.

There's a lot of eco mindedness that accounts for most of it, I think. Or else folks don't like playing the "My yard is greener than yours" game. Things are really different out here. But I'm happy to not have water making the weeds grow faster.

Laurie told me that they stock Detroit Lake with pan size fish from the bridge that crosses the Santiam River leading to the campground!!! Not all of the fish swim downstream and into the lake. Some stick around the deep hole beside the bridge.

R U an RV Mutant too?

We keep our RVM Ohms Basket full at all times!
Whether you need some or two hands full, please help yourselves. "Love" means never having to search for Ohms! ❤️

We are on day 2 of our annual Journey from PA. Next stop: Hayden-ville.
We get a gushing feeling of refound freedom when we hit the road again! You?
Spent last night near Charlottesville VA. We met up with Dave and Deb at the Elks Club here last April! And YOU didn't, so HA!
Happy Trails, RV Mooners!
BTW, the turbo actuator that was replaced on Gwen has provided higher turbo boost, more power, and a small boost to MPG! Who da thunk it?
And, boating at the GC would be an opportunity for anglers and pic snappers.

I think RVM150 Kennicki bought a motel in John Day, and RVM108 Paul and Christine are managing it....
i think..... saw it on facebook..... possibly a mini on the way.....

So wish we could head out..... but, not to be... Larry had a fall on the 4th that scared us both..... fear of falls WITH brain bleeds on coumadin patients......

Deb... ohms to Dale...

Many ohms to those who need them, but havent asked..

Di, they put Dale on eliquis. It is very expensive, but there is not as much worry with bleeding. Hopefully they will come out with a generic soon.

Thanks for the ohmnns everyone!

Surgery went good. He's awake and eating a bite so he can get out of here.

Not yet. They brought him a muffin. He only got half of it down. We are back at my dad's and I'm fixing him some hash browns and eggs. Gonna start a lil lighter than a moose.

Thanx Barb. We'll just trust our lucky stars that there will be a place for us. We'll call ahead to a CG when possible.
