That's 5 minutes from our old house and my BIL lives there. Too bad he's in Mexico on business.

We have moved to Indiana Dunes for 2 nights.
Sitting out on the beach awaiting sunset.
Jackie is hunting for treasure.

Located at the eastern gate. Good for what we needed for a 2 night stay. One FULL day of driving in the park is sufficient. Early start and dusk return allows for multiple stops, lunch, and short trips on the opposite gateway area (the south entrance).

Thanks Papa Steve.

Then yes, 101 to 126 to The 5 to roads to Idanha.

That's right you are going to Southern Calif. first. From El Cajon take 67 to 52 to I-805N to I-5N to US-101N. Stay on the 101N all the way to San Fran and decide where you want to stay and pick a road. Petaluma, CA is about 1 hour ride North of SF. Petaluma KOA has 307 sites. Just remember that CA is expensive for RV parks but there are some buys out there.
Changed up our trip, now going to Vegas then through Bakerfield and over to 101 and north
Continuing North, we stay on The 101. You can travel The 1 but trying to go inland you will run into some twisty/turney roads. We find CG's along 101 and take day trips to The 1. Petaluma to Bodega Bay is an okay ride for a MH.

If you can find an RV Park near Ferndale, CA you most definately want to take a trip to The Lost Coast (IN THE CAR). Off the 101 you would pick up Hwy 211 to Ferndale and then pick up the Mattole Rd and follow it through Petrollia, stop and have lunch at the first resturant on the left side of the road going in to Petrollia. Mettole Rd will take you through the Humbolt Forest, think Red Woods. Explore - wonderful drive, and then Mattole takes you back to The 101 and you can take it all the way to Florence, OR when you have to cut back.

We Love the West Coast for traveling. Wish we were going with you, but alas it is our summer in the heat.
Took me a lot of planning to get our schedule opposite of yours

Oh how I wish I could start out on the 17th and be in the CG's you'll be coming into. That would be so sweet to see the look on your face. I'm sure Mary would be glad to see Earlene, but your sour puss would be so funny.

RVM21 checked in a while ago but not as often as the holder of Lucky #21 should We were on our way to Newfoundland but my back gave out in a major way, sat two weeks near St Louis and now we are almost home to Rocklin CA. Staying in Elko Nv. tonight but fires have closed the 80 after Reno so if it is not open tomorrow we will come up with plan B. So for an older person I am pretty good but Newfoundland needs to wait a bit.

Sympathy and empathy concerning your back problems.

It took a lifestyle change to get me where I wasn't constantly on pain meds. I use to go, go, go morning till night so learning to slow down and let others do some of the things I did before took a lot of time. Now I'm successfully a lazy person, but drug free and although still in pain able to get about. Newfoundland in out sites but not for a few years, so much to see in our country.

About 30 years ago I gave up Hawaiian shirt Friday and decided that I needed to wear Hawaiian shirts everyday to work. A liberating outfit and to this day dressed up means a Tommy Bahama and slacks or black Levi's. Socks also went away.
I am reluctant to take heavy duty pain meds so I do need to find a solution but before I do anything they need to point to the problem and say we will fix this. Getting old is not for wimps. Dressed most days while traveling means T shirt.
