We got a late start today which is always bad. There's plenty of traffic and congestion at the turnouts this time of year, and the sun quickly gets in the way. We did mange some pics.
Canon Beach rock in the surf looks very familiar. Canon Beach is still a lazy, laid back town considering the huge interest in coastal travel. Safe travels.

Hi Annie. See ya soon.

BTW, I got the doctor's approval to test my blood sugar twice a week in the a.m. only. My 3 a day tests have been unbelievably consistent over the past 3 months. No insulin whatsoever and reduced water pill amount. What's next??

You did make it to the viewpoint in Astoria. It's a good view from up top.

All they really have to do is turn the sign around until the next work day. Just to lazy to do it. Here is my thoughts on many workers in all forms. If the pick up one thing and move it or pick up 1000 things and move them, the get paid for an 8 hour day....why exert yourself.

Many of the construction zone signs now add "when workers are present" to the warning signs. My pet peeve is that the signs often stay up for weeks after the job is completed. But, the signs are usually not the property of the construction company. A sign company puts them out.

In my next life I want a job as a construction watcher. Have you noticed that there are always at least 2 people watching for every one who is working?

I think those are the foremen, and they get paid better than those doing the actual work!

ECLIPSE Ponder:

Only 20 days till the MEGA - R V Mooning in Oregon!
For those of us who cannot make it, I was pondering,
Where will the rest of our mutant family be???

I hope to make a 2 night short trip to Illinois:
Sandusky COE IL, check in Sunday 7/20.

For any in the neighborhood, let us know.
For others that will be along the path from coast to coast,
I think it would be interesting to know where you will be.
Maybe our leaders can declare this a

Virtual “Coast-to-coast” – C

OK?

I know you know this, but on the chance that someone does not.......

If your glucose sugar is under control the A1c is great.... but if it isnt, then waiting for 90 days and you could be in serious condition....

they are not for the same purpose...

Larry is insulin dependent diabetic because of gallstone that blocked his pancreas.... he has to check with a stick to determine the amount of insulin to give himself... as he is on a sliding scale...

And since he has received multiple units of blood... his A1c is not his true reading..... as it is not his blood.... that was a new one to me...

Yep.

But as Steve said... his sticks have become regular enough that the doc has reduced his sticks and taken him off insulin. Back on the pills I assume and once that takes hold, and weight keeps coming off a Type II, can generally go with 90 day A1C.

That would be a major accomplishment for Steve or anyone. Next would be enough weight loss and increased activity with proper diet and nutrition coming off the pills. It can be done and I hope Steve and I both get there.
