OK, today I pulled out the old, swollen Trojan AGM-6V dual-purpose house batteries:
and replaced them with new Trojan T-105 AGM deep-cycle batteries:
The theory was the leak in the muffler system caused so much heat to build up in the back area where the batteries are to cause a couple of them to "swell" up on the side. You can even see evidence of this on the door towards the inside where the hinges are and those batteries that were facing that area are the ones suffering the most swelling.
Some may remember that I actually got the original AGM batteries a couple years ago for free because the "technician" thought the older AGM's I had (again free when I bought the RV) needed water so he watered them So they stepped up and replaced them with even better Trojan's (the older ones above) which worked quite well until this heat issue. Sure wished the new ones were free
I'd like to avoid anything exploding on the way out to Idanha so this was a high-priority must do item. They're currently charging as expected, although there was something like 12.6v in them when I first turned everything back on.
So all systems are addressed and ready. I'll need to find a place to fill-up my propane as I'm down to a 1/3 or so on my travels, but I'm sure that'll be fairly simple to resolve.
Oh, and the sun is out and it's pouring rain!

R U an RV Mutant too?
Nola saw a nice sign about the Uinta Mountain Group.
"It would be great if you took a selfie by that sign", she said. "Everyone will love the pic", she said.
Why do I feel like a pawn?

We've arrived in Silverton, Oregon. Very nice little park out in the country. Nice pull through. Have to explore the area. Dish fired up and relaxing for a bit.

Dave... you're old, but a long way from fossilized... I believe you were 14 just the other day.

Heads up to those approaching the Great RVMooning along 101 in either directiin... it's getting busier and busier over there. Travel times will be slower than your GPS thinks...
Traffic east / west is picking up. Not normal weekend stuff, full on summer time. And it's building... be safe out there.
We actually have a site where shade from the awning covers the picnic table.

Drove up the Colorado River canyon again today (to the northeast). Went to check out the Red Cliffs Lodge. Really enjoyed their movies at Moab museum. Best known was Rio Grande with John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara. Several others of note and many, many TV commercials were shot near the Lodge.
Museum had a documentary that talked about the movies and the stars.
Here's a few pics. Look at some of the old westerns and some new ones (like Thelma and Louise) and you'll see, in the background, some of the scenery that's in these pictures.

If you've never seen the Redwoods you need to. Humboldt State Park Avenue of the Giants.
Majestic, simply majestic!
Lady in Safeway said it was in their local news of people in OR. Renting out their driveways for RVs to park during the eclipse!

Yup. Been 14 in my head since October 11, 2011.
But some parts do crunch when trying to move!

You didn't mention the smell of redwood... equally remeberable. Makes ya feel very small.

Well at least it's proof, but the panorama picture I took doesn't look that good, but it's still proof.
Earlene, Dave, Dwayne, Serena (Shara's baby sister), Shara, and good lookin' me. Picture is rather funny if you expand it. I'll try and do better next time.
And today's vittles.

I'll take your word on the smell. Apparently I'm allergic to something around here, haven't smelled anything in two days.
At Safeway lady ask if we have there savers card, I replyed no ma'am, we don't have a Safeway back home. Lady behind us says here us mine so you get the discount. Next she ask where we are from. She grew up in AR and has a sister that lives in Benton! Small world!
