I read post #1 in this thread to understand mutants.

And, my wonderful wife and I are RV mutants also.
We love having no debt and enjoy doing what we do.
I still do like doing many electrical and mechanical things myself, but I am gradually getting away from that.
MY DW is taking good care of her elderly parents now, and so we cannot travel far right now. (They will be married 70 years in May.) But, that's fine. Life is good and we are happy with what we have and don't have.
As a result, our 2004 HR has just over 20,000 miles.

We left Mick's place (brother) and were about to get on highway 1 east when the white stuff started falling in great quantities. We pulled off the highway and called our destination hosts and they were adamant we should not attempt the trip to their place in Sardis BC. Being my brother was already headed to the airport we couldn't return there so we set out for home.

The trip from Nanaimo to the old homestead was complicated by huge snow accumulations and blowing wind so the normally 45 minute drive was extended to over 2 hours. So here we sit in our comfortable home awaiting the final outcome of this 2017 year. We are safe and sound and a little disappointed we couldn't pull the planned surprise on Marcie and Dennis.
Well it sucks it worked out that way. It was nice to hear from you on the phone.
Our complex was inundated with snow the freezing rain and then more snow and I finally got a loader in to clear it. To top it all off we had a power outage for 10 hrs.
Hopefully we can have a mini a little later.
Sorry for using the bad word in my post.

Hey there Pogo,

I'm pretty sure that your Mutant material and you almost aced the grueling entrance exam, if you had declared the "Journey is the Destination " you would have knocked it out of the park ... I sure hope you do so and then #1 or #2 can bestow on you a number and the Mutant broom and dustpan ...

Come on in the water is fine ... Cheers !!!

Ok, Sir Cumference - how do you keep rodents out of your stored MH?

I read the info in that link and while they say "Don’t use mothballs", their only remedy is to let them come out and charge you $ to get rid of the critters. Not quite an unbiased account in my opinion.

I bought the crab and lobster tails for my Birthday Dinner yesterday. But our friends with a park model here surprised me with a home cooked birthday dinner. Roast beef, mashed potatoes, green beans, home made rolls, pasta salad. Ruby and Annie delivered it on the golf cart.

Had a pound of boiled shrimp too Jeff. I had forgotten your shell fish allergy. I'd be pretty sad without that stuff.

I'd suggest you buy some old fashioned moth balls - Lowe’s sells them in the cleaning products section. Then get some plastic containers or empty (and dry) plastic water bottles. You'll need 1 for each tire and several for the engine areas. Drill several 1/4” holes in the containers and put about 10 mothballs in each.

Set one on each tire and place others in the engine compartment and anything else with wiring. Moth balls are NOT for when you are in the coach, only for storage. They are not healthy.

For when you are in the coach, peppermint oil on cotton balls can be substituted for the moth balls.

My DD had her Prius killed when rats got in and chewed up wires. $6000 in damage.

Dont trust moth balls... but have had the poison and peppermint oil, the green soap, and dryer sheets... guess we were just lucky.

But it is looking like it was only in the one bay, and only the solar panel wire, going back tomorrow....

The inside storage is in a different location, and is an inside row....

But more tomorrow...

The Great Mutant Christmas Gift is mutating. First it was a Christmas gift, then a post-Christmas gift and now looking like a Mutant New Years Spectacular Suprise! Regardless it's well worth waiting for! It's getting close! I'll know next time to order thru Amazon so my buddy Ed can expedite its arrival! Keep your eyes peeled mutants!
