Catching up with all the chatter again. I want to backup to the motorcycle comments. Excuse me if I came late to the party.
I have had 5 bikes and now have a little 250 CC road bike. Been riding since 1969.
You all were talking about bringing mc's to FEMIGC. Check with the most rule laden park in Northern MI (Mill Creek). I seem to remember that they don't allow mc's to be ridden in the campground. I sure could be wrong but it is worth a phone call.
OK, back to the chicken jokes.

Sue, that sounds like a potential ice storm. Please be careful! At least you'll have generator power if it worsens.

Well, yes, we are headed that way, but thought we would mosey along, spend less diesel, see some different places, visit folks .... This is what we get, our just desserts!

Not traveling today, just hangin out. We are at the Caverns of Sonora (west of San Antonio) and they tell us it's 71* underground , but they charge $20 per for the tour. The deer get fed at 5:00 daily just over the lot from us. That will be our (& the cats') big entertainment for the day.

It's up to 32* now. Wheee!

We are in Del Rio and coolin' our buns off.
The river hasn't iced over and it better not.
Headin' West on Tuesday, not sure where but I think Vanhorn would be as far as we might go. Maybe only to Alpine.

Hey! We aren't that far apart, and also thought to move on west Tuesday or so. Alpine was pretty cold the last time we were there (hence the name?) Van Horn or Ft. Stockton might be our next hitching post.

There might be some mutant magnetism goin on, reckon? Could there be a coffee or lunchtime mini-c? PM if interested. Cheers!
Sue

Wonderful thing about a motorcycle - you can park it anywhere (long as it is dry). (Or crush a beer can for the kickstand to set on.)

My first job was delivering baby chicks to the chicken farms. There is nothing like driving down the road in a van with 5000 chicks complaining. I later found it was more relaxing than driving down the road with kids in the car!
Later in life we raised 50 broiler chicks and when they were ready we slaughtered and dressed them all out. We couldn't eat chicken for some time after that. All is good now!

I'm hoping to duplicate another Arkansas chicken farmer. Don Tyson, of Tyson Chickens! Largest poultry producer nation wide. Just got to get that first chicken.

Sue,

I have been thru about 8 Caverns, including Carlsbad. Sonora is the best of the bunch. You'll regret missing it! The tour is guided by a real spelunker who can answer your questions. I go every time we drive that way on I-10.

Sorry about the cold. It was coolish here today - low 70s.

Sure must have sucked when that idiot hit you. Real bummer for sure. I think I'd take head-on over broadside any day, at least you have a flying chance to clear the car (I almost did, took out the windshield with one of my knees on the way over)

I'm safe, here's their rule on motorcycles:

Quote:
No loud motorcycles, cars, trucks or other vehicles are permi􏰃 ed.
We reserve the right to determine which vehicles are too loud.
Since mine is all stock, not an issue. Personally, I can't understand how anyone would want a loud bike and go riding on it for 6 or 7 hours. Ugh

Morning, fellow mutants!
So aside from watering my plants, I'm good to go for the surgery prep.

Remember how I was saying that Allen isn't acquainted with you guys so he's got no skin in the game for considering a group camp? Well, I'd added him to our mutant facebook group the other day so he could let you guys know when I get out of surgery. And then it hit me...bwahahah. NOW we can drag him into some of our shenanigans, at least as an observer if nothing else. But it'll help him to put names with faces and maybe he'll want to participate. We'll see.

Have a great day, folks!
Charlene
