Sometimes I think if the Mutants as pioneers in covered wagons.... especiallt the full timers, it just seems this group has the spirit that the pioneers must have needed to endure... strong, curious, energetic, determined, adventurous.... and just great people, from all walks... i indeed hold you all inhigh esteem..

Now, I am going to nurse my head cold that I got from kid germs...

Ohhhh now I'm *really* thinking! Hmm. Hubby may need to put a limit on me with this stuff haha. I'm super excited to bring some of my leaf babies with me, then. Thank you!

Hyacinths this morning. Fragrance hasn't been released yet... flowers just popped yesterday.

I use a tarp folded up around the sides like a box to keep the inside of the jeep from getting wet and water the plants good a day or 2 before we pick up and move. Sue and Martin travel with a small garden sometimes. Lol

Hey y'all,
I have learned quite a bit about the Aqua Hot, and especially the leak (water) we had. So for those newer MH's with Aqua Hot you can holler at me and I'll try and help. When it comes to servicing it though, forget it, call the professional and if in this area I know who to call, Rudy Legett out of Baytown, TX. Phone number on request.

Anyhow, on the way home discovered water leaking down from the opening on the AH where the exhaust pipe comes through. The MH has been in the driveway for over a week trying to trouble shoot and figure where the water was coming from.

Long story short, all the water connections are on the opposite side of the AH from where the burner is located. So unfortunately in my MH you have to access the fitting from the compartment next to it and it is about a 6 inch square hole and not positioned in a direct line to the fittings. Think contortionist. Next time, if ever, I have to go into that area there will be a bigger hole and directly opposite the fittings.

There are lots of connections but four of them are for water and they are similar to a garden hose with the black connector and little ribs sticking out. Found the furthest one away from the hole and most difficult to get to, loose. Hand tightened it and water no longer leaks.

Earlene's happy!

Sue
Lots of CG's in/around El Paso.

KOA in Anthony looks nice, and Mission RV park 1420 Rv Dr, El Paso, TX 79928 looks okay. It would be a short drive for y'all.

Are you going to take I-10 or US-90?

Load the shower up full, and it will look like a florist display case!

So in all reality, are we better off just ripping out the carpet and putting flooring and rugs? I have seen lots of glampers do that. But whaddya say? That may or may not be the wisest choice, yanno?

Charlene
Charlene, we also have a Shark & like it's performance.

As for rugs vs. carpet: The Occupational Therapist in me says scatter rugs & seniors are a dangerous combination. Seniors & falling are also a dangerous combination.

Knowing all that, we still have tile floors w/ scatter rugs. I hope we don't live to regret that choice.

Sue, you bring flowers with you! I was wondering about that. I've got some of those same planters and will miss my gardening when we travel. Where do you store the planters when in motion, too keep them from tipping over?

Charlene
I used to use the shower, but in this rig, it's the only place for the litter box. Those 4 planters fit side by side in a bay underneath, and the oval "pond in a bucket" goes behind them. Martin put in 2 grow lights for cold days when they don't come out.

I have to have "dirt under my fingernails" therapy, too. Salads, veggies, & flowers all do well if you choose varieties carefully.

Cheers! I hafta go finish securing things for the road now. (Planters last, after the slides are in.)

I-10. El Paso was a bit short and Las Cruces even shorter w/ very little after Paso. Finally Martin decided he was okay to aim for Van Horn.

We're just now rolling down the hill into Cruces. Love it! I believe I could spend time in NM quite happily.

Now, however, we're pushing on a bit to get into TX. It seems we know folks over yonder. 🤔

Cheers!
PS: Better put that beer back in the fridge ... & keep Don out of it! 😁

Plants also swinging from the shower bracket, hooked over the wall ... add a macaw!

Watering is a doddle, too, another plus.

How are you by now?

This is orange & avocado salad w/ honey-poppy seed dressing.

Except the "poppy seeds" are seeds of a yellow barrel (fishhook) cactus. Same functions: crunch, texture, & visual appeal -- no flavor.

Plus, they were free for the harvesting. I like free food!
