Well, it has to do with family "wants." Kids wanted us to spend the week with them at Disney World. Hot and rained every day. We decided to head North along the coast. Never expected the temperatures to be this high. An abnormality that may be a normality. I have a family reunion and a class reunion the first week of August. Even the Nor' East has been hot.

With any luck Michigan will be nice and our trip feom HE to there should be pleasant.

We received a report from Honeywell (WiFi thermostat) and one of the information pieces is that our AC while we are away is running more this year than it did last year. It also reported that the average temperatures this year is 2 degrees warmer than last year.

Dave, I'd like to "fake" it more often because Earlene is so nice to me when I'm in trouble. Well, not in trouble with her. I better not do that as she would catch on real soon. Sort of like when she asked me to vacuum and I got down pulling on the cord and it wouldn't start.
That didn't work.

This is MY Story:

Yesterday, before my hypotension, we were supposed to have a short trip of 88 miles from Parris Island, SC to Goose Creek, SC. I plugged in the GPS Coordinates since the GPS could not find an address. Earlene put a land mark at the military installation like she always does and it works (well most of the time).

When we got to Charleston, about 11 miles from our destination the two different GPS's were contradicting each other. In my infinite wisdom I followed the on-board GPS and ignored Earlene's GPS. (iPad). When we drove around in a circle I then, again in my infinite wisdom decided to follow her GPS's. After passing the same places as the on-board GPS using her GPS we completed the circle again and then Earlene became confused. (Remember this is MY story.) We went around the circle again. We never realized we were 1 mile from where we wanted to go because the circle never went by that point.

Again in my infinite wisdom I stopped and asked directions. I was informed to go to straight down the road to the sentry gate. Nope, the gate we go through does not have a sentry, so I was informed to go to the 4 way, turn left, go to the next 4 way and turn right and that gate did not have a sentry.

I know, long MY story but what else do you have to do?

We got to the second 4 way and I started to turb right and for once in Earlene's infinite wisdom she said "There's no gate!" I stopped at look up the road about 1/4 turn into the drive and sure enough there was a gate, but it was closed with no one around. Thank's Winnebago for the 60 Degree wheel turning.

A nice military person followed me into a turn-around area and gave me real good directions. Upon getting to the open gate we determined we were less than a quarter mile from it at several completed circles.

If you have skipped down this far here is the short version: Our 88 mile trip was 124 miles with many red lights, stop signs, roads that said no trucks 8 wheels or over, blah, blah, blah.

Remember: This is MY story.

Earlene just read MY story and sent this to me.

From Earlene:

"My story: his wisdom went the same direction as his teeth, hair, and hearing."

I must say that I have a theme song that disputes derogatory remarks about me.

Ah, ketchupped at last. It's like a novel, a seri-comic opera.

So, I loved Bill's pasture camping story, having slept on the front lawn many times as a kid. No tarp, no stove, just a sleeping bag and a dog. The dog always deserted me sometime during the night & left me to the tender mercies of the skeeters. Rain would force me to drag the sleeping bag in & spread it on the living room floor. Thanks for triggering the memories!

Marty, all the best! Wishing you speedy & uneventful recovery. Hallelujah if it's the last!

We had an epic day today. We got a last minute call from our auctioneer asking if they could come get a load today. They spent many hours loading up a huge trailer. We now have room in our house to finish painting the last two bedrooms. They will be back around the middle of August to clean out the rest of our belongings to be auctioned off. The house is starting to feel big. YEAH!

Dale is doing much better. He still has two more weeks of 10 lb limit so today he played the role of supervisor today.

Wayne, take care of yourself. The doc is having me take only a half tab of my blood pressure med but mine is still low sometimes. This morning it was 92/62.
Marty, so happy to hear you are almost thru the surgeries.

It's getting closer and today I got a glimpse of the near future.

Great to hear from you, Deb! I've been thinking about you and Dale. It sounds like his ticker has decided to behave. Whew!

It’s fun to hear about friends going thru the process of disposing of their excess to go full time. No heavy lifting on my part and increasing chances to play with y'all on the Rainbow.

So, do you have an idea when you'll be leaving the S&B? Do you have that all important list of things you want to see and do? I still keep a list of interesting places I want to visit, someday.
