I dont have much equipment. A dutch oven, and a cast iron skillet. I am bringing the makings for homegrown bean and alfalfa sprouts, and hoping to do some sort of stir fry.

Yay! Those 2 pieces of equipment can do a heckuva lot around a campfire. I'll be looking forward to your stir fry, whether made over the fire or over a more modern heat source.

Danger, Danger, Danger Will Robinson!

I got an email extortion demand today. This guy has a my email address and a password I haven’t used in over 20 years and is threatening to send a video of me that he says he took of me "enjoying" a porn video to everyone of my contacts unless I send him $3500 in Bitcon within 24 hours.

In the event you get an email from Davidson Lowrance, please let me know. I can guarantee you that it's not me you'll be seeing. I've never had a webcam, and never visited a porn site except maybe by accident in which case I immediately closed it.

I thought since many of you might be in my contacts I'd just save time by mentioning it here. Isn’t the internet fun!

This I want to see! And yes, ain't it fun?!

Martin wants to know if this can be reported to any avail or if it's best just ignored.

Let us know how your Bitcoin account is faring. Mine is at zero.

Denise says, nekked or otherwise we got yer back. We all know that our Miss Brooks would no how no way do something like that. Let is know how things work out and maybe you should contact the local Gendarmes to get them working on the problem.

Update:

Slide controller fixed. Actually it was not bad at all. Some background: At our last stop when putting out the slide a tube of Earlene's lotion somehow got between the slide wall and made a strange sound when putting the slide out. I stopped the extension and retracted the slide enough for Earlene to retrieve the object. It was intact. I proceeded in continuing to extend the slide. (Wrong thing to do)

I stopped at Camper Connection in Myrtle Beach, SC. (Camper Connection is expanding across the US) and they are a Lippert Components dealer. The mobile tech I had was very knowledgeable and I really learned a lot.

When extending a Power Gear or Schwintek slide with the Schwintek slide controller always continue in the same direction of travel. Never stop it and change directions. Doing so will confuse the slide controller memory and possibly cause a stall. In our case we could not retract. If this happens:

On the slide controller push the button 6 times and on the 7th time hold it in until the light flashes rapidly. Be careful as this over-rides all the safety functions of the controller. You can damage a slide if you are not careful. Once the light is blinking rapidly try retracting it again (or extending) It should move the slide. If it stalls bring it in/out and start over.

An important item in operating those slides. When extending or retracting, once the slide has stopped hold the switch for a additional 5 seconds to allow the controller to complete the memory cycle.

That's the best way I could explain it.

Wayne, that is what the first video Hunter sent said to do. That is why we were so confused.

My advice. Ignore it, delete it, empty trash.

If it persists then you have to report it back to the ABUSE @ EMAIL.ADDRESS that you received it from. If not ABUSE then WEBMASTER.

Before forwarding it you have to look at the RAW SOURCE and obtaining that depends on the email client/provider. It is sometimes call the "header." A full header is not the From; To;Bcc;Subject as that is only a short abbreviation of the full header (Raw Source).

Advanced Departure

I had planned to stay at this campground, here in the Adirondacks, until the first snow flew. Due to having a strong moral compass, and quite a few extenuating circumstances, I will be leaving, and not returning until? Its a little complicated, and will make a great campfire story.

I will be leaving prior to the MI rendezvous, sometime in August. It is quite a long trip for me, from here to there, and a previously planned September departure, coupled with all the folks I must visit, trumps over the return here for another month or so.

They say they are sorry to see me go, as my park beautification project has been so far, a great success, and are hopeful that I will return next year.

I have enjoyed my stay here, and by next month will have firmly installed my truck cap, and built an interior frame of sorts. I have basically all the equipment that I require for now.

Once I am ensconced somewhere in Arizona this winter, I plan to add solar. My current plan is to head South a bit, to PA and visit two families. I may swing thru Kentucky, on my way to IA, MN, WI, and MI. As things are right now, my plans will adjust as needed.

I am looking forward to the journey, and the people. I have made several great friends here. And it is gorgeous!

I am hopeful, that in the spring, I will be able to head north to Alaska. I lived there from '96 to '11. I did not see everything I wanted back then, and more people to visit also.

Looking forward to Mackinaw!

Citrus flavor? You're supposed to wear it, not drink it...

Dave, I think that might be a reference to their previous RV, named Citrus, who met her demise at the hands of Hurricane Harvey.
