Irene says we are in for a March gathering.

One would think there are potting trays and bagged dirt down there wouldn't they?

We could experiment with grey water watering.

Now you're onto something! Since I donít shower in my rig and we use paper plates, our grey water is almost chemical free. So in addition to tomatoes what should we grow?

Let it go Moose. It's like water under a bridge.

Dirty water, but water!

He just knows we're to nice of guys to trash talk him. You know first sign of any trash talk toward him he would pull the old "my slide don't work" on us.

Do I detect a hint of jealousy because I'm not picking on you? When it comes to trash talk, you're an open book just waiting to have chapters written.

When Larry was in the hospital and we were preparing to fly him to Little Rock, I lost my engagement ring....... well, he just now found it in the drawer of his side table in the rv.... right here by the river.... think MaryAnn also found a ring here....

I think that is a good omen....

Well it is legal now in BC and Colorado, but we all know we can't mention it here.

If we want this thread to survive we better drop this train of thought.

Nice view past the tomato cage! And nice tomato, too. Doesn't it do yer heart good to grow, harvest & eat yer own?

Covered chicken wire works for me. Cages, like yours & as seen here around peppers & nasturtiums, & covering the soil surface w/ said wire before putting in bulbs or seeds, second pic, are both good protection against squirrels, & cages foil rabbits too.

So for travelling gardens, I carry our garden with us, mostly in rectangular planters. Desert is no problem. Another option, especially for longer stops, Earth Box is an integrated system for soil, water, & fertilizer w/ optional trellising & wheels.

Potting soil w/ moisture granules from Menards or Lowe's works for me. For some reason, ordinary garden soil is not recommended for use in pots unless you sterilize it by heating in an oven. How this translates to nutritional value in the produce, I don't know. It is definitely lighter to move about than garden dirt.

So let's compare gardens this winter, y'all! (Although we may not make AZ this year, since Martin has a hankering for the Coast along the Panhandle, AL, MS & such.) I'll be interested to know what you grow & what results you get.

Cheers!Attachment 213960Attachment 213961
