Barb, have you though of getting cell phone amplifier and antenna? Pricey, but may be worth the investment where you are parked for the summer.

Special for us, doncha know.

Actually, a former astronaut was being interviewed on camera in front of the module he flew in. It was Harrison (Jack) Schmidt (sp?), who took the Blue Marble pic (earth from space). He was interesting to listen to.

How about us floating in space ... & the "flowers" on my hat, eh? The lit up interior of the capsule made a great topper! Did ya do dat on purpose, Wayne?

What a day that was!

Pics from the Orion Mission Control Center follow. The historic Apollo MCC was the next floor above us & either closed for renovation or part of a different tour. This living, working center for the Orion project was of more interest to me.

We were there Fri. during a 2-person EVA was underway, changing old ni-cad batteries (I think) for new lithium ones. You could clearly see gloved hands moving about, reaching for handholds, moving different directions.

This banner across the top of the whole big wall of screens includes a photo of the particular crew being monitered.

Way at the left is the "6-pack" of all of the images on the bigger screens. Thumbnails bigger than an RV sidewall.

This man's far left screen shows a map of earth, North America near center. It looks to me as if recent & maybe future passes are shown there, along with what might be location dots in red.

The whole control room from behind our glass screen, so you can put all these puzzle pieces in place.

I'd like to claim that photograph and the positioning, but Earlene took that one.

A fine day it was. Started out at the Johnson Space Center, then The Fish Place for a late lunch. The not so spectacular was the two ladies playing cards at Clark Shoes, Tanger Outlet. The played with Master Card, Visa, AmEx, or at least one of the their playing cards.

Company was fantastic.

Oh, and do I have a surprise for Y'all the next time we meet.

Sorry, Wayne; those are all my pics, taken from where I sat next to Earlene. Hers was in your first post .. how could they not look almost the same?!

BTW, lunch was delish. Better yet, both guys were remarkably calm & patient while we 2 played cards at the Clarks shop. Resigned to their fates, I shouldn't wonder.

I bought a Weboost Home 4G and it took me from 0-1 bar to 3-4 bars on my cell phone, but can still only get data in the middle of the night. I’ve spoken to T Mobile tech support twice. The problem is that the nearest tower is 13 miles away and my phone, which I use as a hot spot, is an iPhone 6. The 6 doesn’t have enough magic goo in it and can’t access much magic smoke.

I bought a new iPhone 7, but didn’t notice it was locked to AT&T. There is a fix, but from way out here it ain’t easy to do and I need to borrow an AT&T SIM card for about 10 minutes.

I’ve decided to just live with it for now since I’m leaving here soon. I'm so busy with the new place that I rarely have time to play online. lI’ll get you to help me (please) at the GC if I haven’t got it fixed by then.

Right now is set for Sam's Beach Bar & Restaurant in Hudson, FL. Let us know.
I'm sorry to say but I won't be able to make this gathering. It's back north for me for a week

There are five wonderful pictures in there, and one ugly one. Go figure.

Yes, going to TX. There's only a couple weekends left before that.
