Bandera TX

Was chatting with Dwayne and Shara earlier today and said we were looking for someplace to wander too for the afternoon. They recommended the little town of Bandera as a likely place. We were truly enchanted with the place and had a great afternoon so thanks very much for the suggestion.

Very near Bandera is Comfort. We enjoyed them both immensely!
BTW, We are only 15 miles North of Bandera! (The Cowboy Capital Of The World)

Where will you be tomorrow?

Speaking of whom...
We're chilling in Benson AZ at the Butterfield RV Resort. Also thank you Dwayne and Shara for the recommendation. We were able to get a space where there was room to unhook the trailer - we are too long for their pull through spaces.

Spent last night behind a Shell station in Gila Bend - no, not doing a Barb, they have a small RV park in back, full hookups and it's cheap.

Friday was one of those 'fun' days. Had the trailer unhooked all winter in Yuma so had to hook it up when it was time to leave. all set to go - and no trailer lights. Spent about an hour fooling with that with several neighbors assisting. Lights worked if plug was just slightly in place but not when all the way in. Finally made the executive decision to take my chances and run that way for the 100 miles to Gila Bend. Pull out of the park, get to the interstate and hit my lights as we were entering the ramp - lights work. Fords...
lights were still OK last night & today but trailer brakes aren't working. Had to unhook trailer today - we'll see what happens when I reconnect it in a few days. Since trailer is grounded through the hitch (is that normal?) I'll sand the rust off the hitch ball to see if that helps. Probably have to get a new plug assembly before I'm done...

Damn, drove right by you twice today. Wish we had known that at noon. We are on our way to the gulf coast as soon as we can get out of here.

Wow, haven't head rolling thunder like we have right now in years. Our little one was mid pee when a lightening flash startled her and then the roll of thunder sent her scrambling for the entrance to the coach. So she's not a happy camp today.

Stay put until the storms pass then you can follow behind them. Supposed to clear the area by 3 p.m. or so.

Dave (of Daveandcarol),
Yep, typical to use the hitch as a ground. I never did like it so I ran an extra wire for a good ground.

Dave (of Campdaven),
The Canuck is supposed to be here this afternoon. I'm ttyin' to figure out where I can hide.

Hello All...

Sandee's dad passed away on April 5th. We raced home and got there at o'dark on the morning of the 4th. When we got a chance to see him he was still somewhat aware of things and knew we were there. His passing was as peaceful as could be with his family at his side.

Sandee and the family are doing as well as could be expected. He lived a good life and while he is already missed, we have had a lot of great memories to take with us.

No sad tears for him. He was ready to see his bride who he has dearly missed for more than 4 years. It's all good as we celebrate a good man's legacy.

Thanks for letting us know. It's so good you could get there in time to be with him. Hugs & our sympathy for Sandee, please.

X-2 here.
Painful it is to no longer see loved ones......but the saving Grace is, our memories, (a gift I believe), and the promise we will meet again, one wonderful day.
