Bess passed away last night at 3:30. I got a call at 1 with the emergency vet doc wondering if she had gotten into rat poison as she was bleeding internally. He thought a platlet transfusion might help her stay alive long enough for the internal medicine doc to do a sono at 8 AM and see what was going on, but I said no. The original doc thought it was hepatic encephalitis or cancer. Neither of those would be due to the wool dryer balls. Something was wrong with her liver, and it was probably cancer would be my guess. I am having her cremated as the camper cannot stay cool enough to keep her from disintigrating on the trip home. I asked if they could mail her ashes, but they said no, they are too fragile. She had lost ability to walk and couldn't see and by the time I got her to the vet, she was close to comatose condition.
