I have trouble believing you will admit to this but the above quote was just followed by a big blank space....

Good to hear Papa Steve is recovering. Hopefully they will switch the pain meds around a little to stop the bad side effects.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch...Hershey dog had his surgery today to remove a mass under his skin on his side. Seems to be doing OK but the stitched incision looks like a caterpillar...

Okay, before Dennis does his embellishment like he always does. (This may be lengthy)

When we park the MH in the driveway we have to run it up on three sets of 2 x 12's. The 2 x 12's are staggered on the run-ups of course and have a 45˚ bevel on each leading edge. Now remember, we had a new driveway put in and the previous driveway and board worked well.

The old boards were worn and split down the middle. They were held together with the 3/8" plywood covering them. So, I made new board and the design was the same except I lengthened them by a few inches. The new boards were "green" and with the worry that they would sllide I bought some expensive sandpaper type stair treads and plastered the bottom board with them. Oh, and each board has 3/4" holes for metal dowels to keep them from slipping (Lag Bolts). It worked.

Except, yesterday it didn't. One side or the other would slip when trying to back up onto the ramp. What to do. Earlene made a suggestion and I said, "Yeh, it might work," but I had my ideas also.

All that expensive stair tread was rubbing off. With the stacking in the garage and heat and then the extensive heat of the driveway softened the stickum and it was caking up and peeling in spots. Out with the putty knife and scrape all that off. Then off to the back yard, break out the circular saws and fix the top board for more of a 45˚ cut at the top. Sort of a double bump, and try again.

Nope, same thing. Also, the grit on the stair treads had rubbed off onto the driveway and it was like rolling a board across marbles. Sweep it away and try again. Nope!

Earlene gets the roll of cupboard liner non-slip material from the MH, cuts a length the size of the board and we put it under the bottom board. So it is now about 2 and 1/2 hours later. Okay, try again.

Did I mention she had an idea?

Crap! Another one I have to try and live down.

(Satisfied Dennis?)
