First off, let me say: Martin is a Coward!

Second: Some imported locals make you walk miles for something that isn't there & then force you to settle for Ben & Jerry's. (Guilty as charged, m'lud.)

Soooo, I have been deputed to pass along the bad news, or maybe it's the good news, that the Cutters are booked at Pensacola for 10 weeks, from Jan 1 to mid-March, & at Foley, AL, from then till mid-April. After that it's northward bound.

Whether that's bad or good depends on your perspective!

The Minors have indicated they might drive east on another pilgrimage to see us & others sometime over the winter. We had a blast in New Orleans last year. I will miss TX & certain of its inhabitants, but the driver doesn't want to drive that far. Coward! Heck, it's only East Texas!

How about a convoy of mooses & minors & Beaumont pups headed east to spend a little quality time with the chuckinthetruck folk & us? Inducements needed? Gourmet popcorn, white sugar sand beaches, Ben & Jerry's you don't have to walk for .... ?

Sorry to be the bearer & all that. Reeeally sorry! Don't shoot me! I'll be double sorry to miss youse!

Yesterday, Miya was, well, Miya. Eating, walking, cookie searching, and being Miya. This morning she would not eat her breakfast. She was very lethargic. We stayed home to keep an eye on her. This afternoon we took her to the emergency animal clinic.

It is with a very sad heart that we have to report that our beloved Miya is in Doggie Heaven.

The doctor said she had a chemo abdomen as it was full of blood. The final diagnosis was Hemangiosarcoma, which can affect the spleen. The prognosis was not good and surgery would give her maybe 2 to 3 months. We made the decision to have her euthanized. Miya’s private veterinarian back in Texas City said we made the right choice.

Please read the article on Understanding Hemoangiosarcome

Oh my dears! My heart aches so for you! I could not phone or we'd all be in floods! Call me if & when you feel up to it. Most of us can share your pain, & many of us knew Miya well enough to mourn her loss. Tears come.

We might do a car trip your way too. Carl, maybe, Steve & Maryann, others could be in range, couldn't they?

I'm too sad about Miya right now to wisecrack.
