Sorry to hear about her heart trouble. She and Sena now have that in common. Sena is now on 3 heart medications. I have to mix Nutella into Sena's meds to get her to take them. In a few weeks I’m going to buy them in Mexico where they are cheap enough for me to experiment with. How do you get Mac to take her meds?

When Sena is hurting she grabs the skin on her scalp and digs her fingernails in, but her heart problem (dialated Cardiomyopathy) wasn’t causing her pain. Her symptom of heart problems is a constantly stuffy nose. I ignored it for too long thinking it was allergies. Monkeys hide illness in order not to be targeted by predators. Do birds do the same?

Oh.... LitaBit’s registered name is “MaKaly LitaBit”. Her parents names were combined.....

Wasnt it funny... He didnt fall out, but he looks like he did.... BUT when he was hanging it... the first time I told him it was too slack.... he said oh no it isnt.... try it out... DUMB former blonde me... I sat and went right to the ground... yes it hurt.... no he hasnt flipped it....

Wayne, gk know not to splash Larry... I am fair game apoarently as I was the only adult who caught a water balloon full chest when all 5 were here....

Hose will be shorter, there is a split at tap, just havent switched them around...

Di I thought the long water hose was for Sir Cumferance, so he could spray all the way around himself.

Thank you for the words about Miya.

So sorry to hear about Mac. Best wishes and Ohhmms for a speedy recovery.

How is it going to feel living with two girls?
Well, I guess it isn't much different than before except trying to remember Mac is not a boy

Apparently too much physical contact between owner and bird (petting, scratching, etc.) can encourage egg laying. (I'm assuming Boko has never laid any eggs either.)
Somewhat related to that: Carol's stepdaughter had a male parakeet that she had a lot of physical contact with (perching on her hand and things). She was showing us one day how it would dance around on her finger and then 'pee' on her hand. I told her, "that's not pee. He's trying to mate with your hand...".
Birds definitely will do that and it's not a good thing (for the bird). I make a point of not encouraging or engaging in any odd activity like that. I read about that stuff prior to getting Mac. It's really rough on the bird too.

Mac and Boko get their meds via a syringe (no needle). Boko loves her meds, it's really funny. Tonight she flipped herself over on my finger she was so anxious

Mac on the other hand doesn't seem to like meds but she's never had them and squawks like a Canadian Goose when I am giving them to her. Maybe once the routine is in place for a bit it'll be better. She doesn't want to be flipped upside down like Boko so she just stands there and I pump the stuff in.

Birds are very much like Sena, they will not show their problems for fear of being kicked out of the flock. Flocks don't want sick birds as birds are probably even more fragile health wise than Sena so life is rough in the wild for a sick bird.

In fact, that's what got me into this situation with Mac - hid the fact that she was gnawing away at her legs.

i can just see and hear Carl in the past. Puts Mac in the cage with Boko and says, "Do your thing so we can have little Mac's or Boko's. What's the matter, not into it."

Mac and Boko are looking at Carl with that, "Are you crazy or just dumb! We can't do that!"

It's alright Carl, they can adopt.

Mac is what she is and she always will be your bright little buddy.
Looking forward to meeting up with her again somewhere along the road.

Don't come to Texas until the weather has finished messing with it.

This is downtown Houston.

Let me see here.....
Mac isn’t, GKs hose is too long, Wayne is flipped by a bird, Tim hides in a hyde house, Larry and Di got trained, but Di not so well trained on a hammock, Dave figure out how birds don’t and why not, and that’s all I have to say about that!

We are in Cotopaxi CO, and enjoying a week of the finest weather in a very long stretch of moons!

Monarch Pass was over 11,000 feet of “freeze my butt off” and “holy cow we’re dizzy and light headed”.

Had a little scare tonight

Microwave decided to up and die in the middle of cooking dinner (convection oven). No light, no power, no warning, no nothing. Finished dinner in the air fryer and sat through it wondering if I could fix it (replaced a fuse in another one about 20 years ago - wonder if this one has one). About 30 minutes later it comes back on as if nothing was ever wrong. I know it's not a Microsoft product but... Apparently it got too hot and tripped a breaker or something. time to learn more about microwaves I guess...

About putting 2 parrots in one cage - I have a story about a preacher's parrot and a sailor's parrot but no way can I tell it on here...

I'd love to hear a *new* parrot joke, I think I've heard every one out there

You could post them on the other medium...

And yes, Florida plans have started...it's coming up way too fast yet again...
