Hey, Dave! Please wish Carol a belated Happy Birthday from me. (After I was so careful to put it on my calendar, I missed it anyway. My baaaad!)
I hope she had a lovely, special day!
Cheers!

Well DAVE!!!! You should have told us it was Carol's birthday. I hope you two partied the night away. Please give her a birthday hug from the fur kids and me.
We'll be in Yuma Tuesday afternoon for a 2 pm vet appointment and some errands. Maybe we can arrange a quick get together?

I have a proposition for you about the birthday thing. I soon may be able to do them but in a posting capable calendar. I will see if I can revive the format I used when I started doing that for y'all way back when. Once the laptop is all back on line I will let you know.

PLEASE post them here also. Did you hear about Facebook getting hacked and everyone's name and address was posted online for a week before it was taken down? I consider it dangerous.

Who puts their address on FB?
To be more paranoid of one service over another is just bias. Every transaction you do online is 1) traceable, 2) hackable, 3) sellable to those that want that info. To think otherwise in this day and age is just being naive.
I'd be more worried about that smart phone tracking you every single foot you move. And don't think flipping it into Airplane mode will make a difference, it's still got GPS and is still tracking you everywhere.

I know you are right, Carl. I'm not sure exactly what it is about FB that irks me, but it’s a major deterrent for me. It may be just a gut feeling, but I’ve learned the hard way to listen to my gut.
As for the addresses, from what I understand is that someone employed by FB was collecting addresses, and FB won’t admit that they authorized it, and no one seems to know why. I believe I got that info from LifeLock.

Yes, Carl, anywhere you go. Google even tracked me across the Atlantic EVEN THOUGH my phone was turned off and in the overhead compartment!. Explain that then.

The majority of identity theft is from an inside job. Think of how many times a credit card is used at a restaurant and the server walks away to scan the card. Might make a copy of it front and back with camera and sell to the information to others.
Here is a very good link on Avoiding Identity Theft
Be aware! Shoulder surfing is another "great" way to gather information.

That one is easy - you were there, now you're here, there's only one way to accomplish that!

OK, so how can one explain the precise tracking of our final approach to O'hare?

Only thing I can figure, is as long as the battery is still in the phone, (most are not removable)....something stays active. Perhaps the "good intentions" of that was a safety issue to locate someone in emergency???
But that's only good till the battery's dead.
