There is a ton of metadata, I'm only going to guess here, but I suspect if figured out what flight you had to take in order to match up the times.

Carl, Those are one of my reasons for not wintering in Florida anymore, but not one of the top 4 reasons.

As to being tracked wherever you go - why would you care if you aren’t going where you shouldn’t be or doing anything wrong? If the NSA or anyone else wants to be really bored, they can follow my every move.

O'hare, after customs clearance. I was thinking maybe Google identified me at gate M10 at Heathrow at 20.05 therefore flight BA 297 and tracked us from there. Too clever by half.

Wasn't on the site yesterday, playing catchup:

Sue & Barb - Carol says "Thanks". I fixed her a pineapple upside down 'dump' cake & we had nachos for supper.

Barb - we have a 'Lunch with the (park) Owners' on Tuesday at 1 but should by done by 2. Call me when you hit Yuma.

Headed to Mexico on Monday to see a dentist. Carol needs about 4 teeth pulled, then dentures later. Sad part is, may not be able to get the dentures until next year but the teeth need attention and can't wait that long...

Well, you can protect where you are tracked by wrapping the phone in a couple layers of aluminum foil. I wouldn't want anyone to know I was in England either.

Here is some SPY Stuff
I'm not worried, I don't do any wrongdoings except when Dave forces me to.

also look up:
XKeyscore.
ECHELON.
Carnivore.
Dishfire.
Stone Ghost.
Tempora.
Frenchelon.

To name a few. Spying, or eavesdropping, has been going on for centuries. It is nothing new. It just came to the front of everything because of disgruntled employee's revealing secrets.

Just look at the tracking software on websites to know what your likes are so they can target you for ADS they believe you want to see. There are 4 trackers on this thread; openx, skimlinks, and google publisher under advertisments and another one under essential called google tag manager. They are heavy into marketing.

I don't see any of them on my computers as I have them blocked.

Fortunately I have a 27 inch screen here at the S&B. When those pop-up appear saying that I need to turn "cookies" on I just ignore them and read the two 20 inches of the screen. It just gives "me" peace of mind.

The thing about surveillance is that typically someone has to care what you are doing. Goggle does because they get better ad revenue off targeted ads, right? Who really cares what you are doing unless a) it’s illegal or b) they can make money off it?

I'm going to finish this thought on our other venue for privacy.

I have witnessed friends using Google Maps for planning their route have about 3 or more miles added to their planned route. To get to their destination by Google they seldom if ever plan the route for your shortest run but to swing you by more of their advertisers.

This should bring a smile to some

Current temperature here in the far south of Vancouver Island is 1.4C (34.7F) and it is just starting to snow.
