Bob didn’t know I was taking this photo. I just want y’all to see him all covered in Connie snow. And apparently lying down on the job. Sorry about the orientation.

Masybe he just wants to cuddle that sly devil. Must be nice to be able to go outside without imitating an Eskimo.

How much harder and costly would an RV outlet for traveling Kanuckistanians be?

Took Carol across the border to Mexico today for a dental consultation. Taking her back next week to get 4 teeth pulled.
Getting in the long line to return to the US, I told her it reminded me a little of the ride line at a theme park...

Di we flew over yesterday coming back from Orlando, would have stopped in but the pilot was in a hurry to get us back to AR. Enjoyed the 70s-80s of Fl and the Bahamms

Tricks to get thru customs quicker -
Go on Sunday
Go as early as possible
Pretend you are ill and ask border guards or others waiting to please let you cut in line.
Make up an emergency excuse - I have to pick Mom up at the Yuma airport in 45 mins

No, actually things went very well. Have a new plan for the dreaded weight gain that comes with cruising. Take a 10yo, a 6yo and two 2yos. I don't think I ever got to finish my own ice cream cone without a little nose stuck in it, followed by a big smile and gleaming eyes. Countless trips through the water tubes, dancing to Disney music with our very own princess not to mention chasing all four through deep sand at the beach, through the ship corridors and concours of the airports. After all the food and steady fun I actually lost 1 pound?

Can we consider this for the official unofficial Mutant Theme Song?
I am pretty sure Dave and Nola will concur.

Thank you for the welcome, Richard! Don't know when you were last in Seattle but it's changed a lot even in the last couple of years. DW and I have lived in Ballard since '99 and wow -- what a difference. Looking forward to hitting the road in eight years or so.

Thank you also for the welcome, Barb! I browsed the first bunch of pages but lacked the stamina to go through all 6000+. I guess I'd be a "Probationary Mutant" as my DW and I don't have an RV yet, but will by the time she retires in eight years. Speaking of mutants, my DW swears I'm either an alien or a robot built by aliens, so maybe I can qualify even without an RV.
1) When we get an RV, the ol' television(s) will be torn out. Not because we have any philosophical aversions, we're just avid readers. We'd rather read or be traveling. TV plays so little a part in our lives now that having a satellite receiver and LCDs in the head are on our "to be avoided" list.
2) The journey is (and always has been) the destination! We consider ourselves travelers rather than tourists, preferring to keep a low profile and explore new places. We all have only a limited time here, so it's experiences that matter for us, not things.
Anyhoo, even if I'm only probationary, I'll still be happy to get you all coffee. Being in Seattle I've learned how to brew a decent pot or two.

Very WELL DONE miketo!
It is far above my pay grade to give you a score... HOWEVER, I want to point out to our leaders one thing in your favor:
You already have an RV in your mind & you will NOT have a TV, that you will NOT miss.
I would count that as a win!
Last time in Seattle was in High School, about 1959 or so.
I have visited a couple times to see cousins since, but it has been too long.
One of my favorite places is the "Ballard Locks"...
Continue to join us on this forum and continue to impart a "Northwest" refreshing attitude.

Welcome, miketo! Please tell us how to pronounce your moniker & how you came up w/ it.
Mine is suspinz because I spin fibers into yarn, be it silk, cotton, wool, or whatever. A reader too, I also carry a small spinning wheel in the RV. TED talks, audio classes, sometimes music ... all can accompany the spinning. Our front, unnecessary, TV has become the art gallery.
Eight years seems a long time, but it'll go before you can blink (try it, I dare ya!) & you'll be out on the road meeting mutants all over the place. Looking forward to meeting you!
Hey! Is some dang offishul gonna come along here & grab this guy before he sees sense & scarpers off?!
Cheers!
Suspinz, aka RVM #36
