After many, many years working on sailboats, it's true: if it moves and it shouldn't, use duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. (Actually, neither are appropriate for general use on sailboats. But you get the idea.)

Wayne, you reminded of the hillbilly credo: "When it's sunny, the roof don't leak. When it rains, I cain't fix it nohow."

Moose, I've heard of Red Green but haven't watched any episodes. I'll hunt it down this weekend instead of doing housework.

Dobe, I'm normally a pretty good self-starter. I tend to fix things before they become big problems; no honey-do list needed. However, my bride is always very appreciative.

Barb, you know how you tell who's an outsider in Seattle? They're the ones using umbrellas in the rain. Which reminds me of a Norwegian saying: There's no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing.

Iím just curious, how many of you would consider coming to a Grand Curiosity in southern Arizona in late March or early April? The weather is still decent but starting to get warm in April. Thereís a beautiful park near here - The Oasis at Aztec Hills RV Park.

Mike,

I leave Seattle when the rains begin and wait until they quit to get there. That's no place for someone with SAD (seasonal affective disorder) to live. I can’t figure out why so many people endure that constant gloom. But like my stepmom used to say, " You can get used to hanging if you hang long enough.”

Hey Mike, funny.....some of that hillbilly logic ya really can't argue with right?
About the 'no such thing as bad weather' quote.....I've heard Col Harlan Sanders say that, (or a very close variation there of). Wonder if he was Norwegian?....I'll have to look it up.

I would do horribly there Barb. I have that disorder by self diagnosis. I need sun to motivate. A few gloomy days I can handle, but days and days and months and months would do me in I think. A vitamin D supplement would not help in my case.

If you were a true mutant you would set up about 20 to two dozen 50 amp outlets on your farm. Hint, hint, hint!!

No one wants to come to AR! They say it's to hot, to rainey, to windy, hail not to mention jumping trees!

HBTY, Jeff! Or should I call you Mr. Lump?

Barb, SAD isn't funny. A former girlfriend had it; she completely shut down during winter. Glad you found a cure that works for you!

On the other side of the coin, my wife and I find continuous blue sky oppressive. We could never live in the Southwest permanently. Rain, mist, fog -- that's a perfect day for us! Gotta have active weather, gotta have seasons, gotta have rain. Yeah, we're weird. Don't hate us.

Do you have any idea how many watts of solar panels that would require???

Why donít you buy the 3 acre property 1/2 mile north of here that has easy access to power poles and do it up there. The property is cheap!

My daughter is like you, the sun is an enemy. I still think they switched babies in the nursery. We canít be related.
