Di, prayers still coming Larry's way.

On Monday the doctors will put in a dialysis catheter in Larrys neck.... this will allow him to come home when they can find a dialysis center that can deal with his LVAD as well.....

This will be a temporary port, they plan on doing a fistula Y graft in his arm for eventual use, but it takes a couple of months for that to heal... dont know when that is planned for......

He is back on iv heparin drip because he cant take his coumadin prior to this surgery/procedure.... such a fine line between clotting and not with his pump....

Cardiologist says his heart/LVAD are doing fine.... and Larry likes the kidney team doctors.... he really is doing well considering...

A FISTULA
A surgeon connects an artery to a vein, usually in your arm, to create an AV fistula. An artery is a blood vessel that carries blood away from your heart. ... The AV fistula is a blood vessel made wider and stronger by a surgeon to handle the needles that allow blood to flow out to and return from a dialysis machine.

My son has this fistula & when I visited him in several hospital stays , the staff would ask for permission to bring several in to touch his arm. He is quite the attraction

Recently we have been taking a few car rides. They have brought some enjoyment into our situation here at home. Mental health and something new to look at is important in the lives of those who are actually abiding by the recommendations the governor and president's experts have laid out for us to follow.

We have some food preparation taking place today. Homemade broccoli soup is on the stove. Chicken legs are in the crock pot. Chicken and noodles and mashed potatoes are in our future. BTW, eating food and smelling the cooking of food is more appealing to me each day. I'm down to 212 pounds. A mere 60 pounds in weight reduction since late October. Weight is leveling out each day.

Prayers and healing ohms to Larry and Di and also to the needs of mutants everywhere. Unspoken needs can be helped by the prayers from others who care about and love you.

Blessings and love to all of you.

We have Lexi to ride with us and stay with us during the day and night. She is probably our mental health healer. Although today Earlene made chocolate chip cookies and they were on the rack. Unfortunately the rack was to close to the edge so Lexi has had her first, and hopefully last, chocolate chip cookie. So, see, mental health helper.

We also enjoy the going for rides, or as Lexi calls it, "Bye bye." She will get all excited at those words. Loves to ride with the back windows down but doesn't like blowing in her face. Typical dog.

All is fine here. Governor going to open up retail sales, or "Retail-To-Go," allowing stores to bring merchandise out to the customer. Just like drive-through food places, almost. But that is good. At least it is opening a little.

Texas city has 142 cases of the Coronavirus with 80 of those being in a nursing home. Minus those 80 cases leaves the population of 45,000 at 62 active cases.

The entire county of 342,000+ has 450 cases with 193 recovered and 15 deaths.
I really hope it is going away. So happy no one on this group has caught the virus. Keep up the good work.

Prayers still being sent Larry's way.

Some of us may have gotten the virus and not even know it. That is a hard one for me to believe but apparently it works that way. I've been abiding since I have to do the dirty deeds Mon-Fri, but some weekends I go for a motorcycle ride. That always frees the mind and soul

Been nothing but drama here since I got home.......Repaired both Honda gennies, added a remote start/stop switch on the 3500 Predator, having to replace brake pads, rotors, calipers on trailer, and the latest is a 53 year old family relative was found dead in a rest stop in Washington......now with the wife being the oldest remaining on her side, she gets to deal with this.....been out to the home of his also pasted parents and secured the house......lots of druggies in that small town, so starting tomorrow, lawyer comes into picture.....been 5 cars stolen from there, and cops in 2 states involved and have to wait till wife has the authority to report the cars stolen......cops have all vin numbers, so that's a help....brought home a Range Rover yesterday, and the relitive was driving a BMW that's in an impound yard.....till we can get the power.....we're thinking he could of been overdosed by his 'girlfriend' who we know was traveling with him and was no where to be found after this happened.....so details from what killed him will be forth coming this week......wish I was still in Dateland....

Bob,

So sorry about the chaos up there. Now is not the time for more stress in your lives.

I wish you were still in Dateland, too! It's really quiet out here.
