It has all the classic components of a rust bucket!
Now show us the close-up of the front emblem.

And the mystery of the white spot in the photo is revealed...to be the reflection of the camera flash in the polished wood trim on the post...

Don't recognize the badge over radiator, though.

I used the image to search the google and it couldn't find anything that matches it. I'm starting to wonder if that emblem is something custom the owner put on.

My little Alpine had the four-cylinder (but dual carbs!) engine in it. Even in that small car, there was plenty of room under the hood to get in and do work yourself. Supposedly you could shoehorn a Ford 252 V8 into the engine compartment; then you had a really fast car that blew up the U-joint under torque.
Would have liked the Alpine Tiger that did have the V8.
A nearby buddy of mine in high school had a Chevelle SS and we traded rides into school every other day. That was one sweet ride in cherry condition. Naturally we called him "G-force Dan." I wonder whatever happened to that car....

A shop class friend had a Lark he blew the engine up in and decided to put the engine out of his brothers Dodge Royal in as a substitute. Took most of the school year and what he basically did was remove the whole front end, suspended the 383 motor in front of the balance of the car and then rebuilt the frame and stuff to make it fit. The car was super fast at the strip but even with power steering it was almost impossible to turn the front wheels when sitting still.
With today's safety standards the rebuild would have never passed any semblance of a safety check. He got suitable front coil suspension parts from an old wrecked truck at Large's Auto Wrecking in a small community about 20 miles east of town.
