Actually this is a good training practice...... tells them it is ok....

And right BEFORE I pick up keys etc... I have a talk with my dogs. I tell them I am going and they get to stay home and take care of each other, or Larry... when I do QT turns and goes downstairs, and LitaBit goes to the window.... no problem.

When I ask if they want treats? They go to the down position....

My only problem is LitaBit loves people snd won’t stay down.....

GOOD MORNING mutants.

Good morning Di and all other mutants!

Wet day down here in the sunshine state, probably for the next day or so. But sounds like great weather again after this passes.

Encountered a big dog at the dog run a few days ago, she got pinned almost immediately. Took both Carol and the dog owner to pull the big away and out of the run. Dog was too big for the owner to control...hopefully not causing any future problems with meeting bigger dogs.

Outside of Chandler OK tonight at Oak Glen, a small park off old Route 66.

Pee pads are the worst thing to train a puppy. They learn to go inside. The BEST way to train is a crate. You start out with a small bed area and a large papered area. Every few days or so, enlarge the bed and shrink the paper. Every time they eat or drink take them out until they “go”. By making the paper area in the crate smaller, they learn to hold it until let out. They don’t want to sleep in the dirty paper

Agree with no pads in house. The crate is the way to go. Never used paper or pads in a crate. Just put the puppy in there but make sure there is enough room to sleep and not move around and play. Take them outside often. Took Lexi 2 nights to sleep through the night. 1st night she cried and got up and took her outside. She went potty. Second night same thing. Third night she slept all night without crying. They don't like to go potty in their own bed. In Lexi's case she was raised with her mommy in a crate/cage and we got her at 8 weeks so that could have made a big difference.

Sounds like a good place to land for a while. Lily gets the bonus, right?

Enjoy!
