No, not yet. Here's a piece of news - Two days ago, I took a driving test to renew my DL and, since I need to have a Group 2 for the RV, I had to use that for the test. Tuscola is an easy town to navigate and there was practically zero traffic.. The young lady examiner, Kendra, was super friendly.
I explained that I hadn't driven the rig for over a year due to the pandemic and an unexpected case of CC so please forgive any mistakes. We just traveled around making a few left and right turns and chatting about stuff like where we had traveled to and family histories. I did apologize for doing a 'California Stop' once and promised not to do it again. She just laughed. I passed.
I had to take a bunch of documents in to prove my identity to get what they call a 'Real ID' DL. The grumpy guy behind the desk took ages to process all this but, at the end, charged me the princely sum of $5 to give me 4 more years of driving legality.

Congrats Martin! I’m glad I don’t need anything extra in the way of a drivers license to navigate homer. Sure glad you got To take that pleasant employee For a ride and not the grumpy one.

Just remember - the bigger the dog the bigger the pile you have to pick up when you go for a walk. Guess why I chose an 8 pounder??? Cheaper to feed, too.

Good morning, wake up everyone... I seem to stay so very busy these days, which is a good thing and I am having so much fun.
But I read every morning and see how you are all...

We thought we were coming to Arkansas in April, but that couldnít work because Larry needed iron infusions series.

Then we thought about May, but our friend contractor was able to fit our project in, so we are 70% done on closing in 1/3 of our under area for storage, and workshop classroom for me (1000 sf).

Then I was appointed by the Board of County Commissioner to one of the 2 open positions on the Hernando County Fine Arts Council..... sworn in last night..

I joined Rotary in January and am enjoying that.

I have helped start a new ladies group here in Hernando Beach for just getting together and enjoying, had 2 breakfast meetings, and next week we are touring the Hernando County Botanical Gardens.

I am also on the POA hospitality committee.

I have paintings in 2 places, and was offered 2 places to teach watercolor lessons....

I gave of core group of 5 best friends and it is so much fun. We lunch, have coffee, take day trips, and get together with the husbands.

Larry is healthy for the most part and loves it here as well.... we sit outside every day and enjoy being here.

LIFE IN FLORIDA is awesome....

If it wasn’t for the high humidity, bugs and alligators I’d believe that.

Sure sounds like you are enjoying life. Congrats!

Well done to all.

Martin, you must have felt right at home having the co-pilot telling you were to go! Were you just as happy to be on your way?

Congrats.

Not sure about that Buicks and age thing. I've owned 3 Buicks - 1958, 1962 and 1990-something (forget exact year). All were hand-me-downs from family members, 2 I drove to my HS proms. Last one I got in 2005 when Mom passed, drove it for a year until it got t-boned. Wish I could have kept grandparents' '62 but rust got the frame.

Mine is a '62, bought new by my dad, (who would've been 107 years old tomorrow. He passed in 1989).
Also not to forget all the sporty cars and muscle cars that Buick built, like the Grand National and Regal. I don't agree with the "old man's brand" thing.

After 2 days of driving the new 2021 Enclave by Buick, I can say that it outperforms my 2015 Enclave, has a smoother ride, and has new creature comforts that I find useful.

The main problem I have with it is that 40% on the cars in the grocery parking lot are white and I have to search harder to find my car. LOL. Oh yea, the new fangled "video game toggle stick" gear shift gets some getting used to too. The absence of a key is just weird too.

New deck on the house really improves our back yard. Same footprint but new boards. Used treated wood and not composite decking. At our age with don't need the increased cost nor the extra years of durability.

I had a late 60s Buick (??)Cat convertible with a 442 and 4 speed. It definitely was not an "Old Pharts Car."

It took me a while to get used to no key, but now I love it. Just carry the fob in my pocket and I'm always good to go.

Although towing mine required learning how to use the *real* key that is hidden in the fob and how to pop off the plastic piece on the door to actually get to the keyhole. Once I pull the two fuses out for towing (still need to hook up my fancy switch to stop doing that) the car no longer allows any electronic gadgets to work. e.g., can't open the car doors using the fob.
