Barb, we're wishing you the best in your recovery and the effectiveness of the devices. Back pain can be disabling. Hope you heal soon.

Thanks everyone for all the good thoughts. What I am doing is planning for when I can get back to work. My list gets longer every day, but my bank account gets smaller as I order the parts and pieces I need to finish jobs that are waiting for me and cooler weather. Today I’m looking for a battery to run the electric start on the backhoe. It’s always something!

Barb Iím guessing a lawn tractor battery should do. Unless you have a charging unit on the motor, generator, alternator, stator or good neighbor youíll need to think about keeping it charged regardless of the size battery you use.

Two, but use has diminished over the years, plus a post hole digger not used anymore.

Oh yeah, a shovel needs a HUGE battery. Something to shock my heart after it quits from all that work.

The guy putting it on for me is very good with motors. Iím hoping he will wire it so I wonít have to remove it for solar charging. I gots LOTS of that! Maybe I should just put a solar trickle charger on it? The 12V DC charging I know needs a charge controller to keep from over charging the batteries. Does this type of charging use something similar?

I couldn't get outside to enjoy it though, I spend the evening removing our old Sony TV(bad power board) and mounting a new Samsung 50" TV.

I have a generator with a battery for starting it. Bought a cheapo trickle charger for it and yes, it keeps from pumping juice into the battery endlessly otherwise it won't last for long.

Oh ye who have so little faith in those younger than thee. It was easy to plug it in...There's a plug right on the generator! Duh! I start up the generator and that charges the battery. Now if I can only remember to do that the night before I lose electricity

One small problem guys, Barb does not have readily available 110V service. I would recommend once the battery is installed that she buys an easily attached 12V solar charger. She probably has more sunshine available to her than any three other mutants combined.

I can buy them up here for from $36 to $54 and I'm sure Hahbah Freight has them for cheaper.
