Barb, I'm working on/thinking about a south west trip this winter but dealing first with a possible complete roof replacement on the RV.

I think I was the only Mutant at the Hail of a GC that didnít lose my roof. Iím not sure if it was because my roof is fiberglass or because it is mostly covered by peel and stick solar panels. I did lose my AC shroud and refrigerator vent cap and the shower skylight was cracked but repairable. I was surprised to see that the polycarbonate roof vent caps were unharmed. A hail storm in Oklahoma took them out earlier and I upgraded. The extra money was certainly worth spending.

And Smarty only had one tiny ding on the metal. I lucked out!

For those who werenít there - we had softball size hail.

I didn't lose my roof but everything plastic got shattered. Cost to fix my RV was less than $1k, cost to fix my car - $12k. Insurance covered the car, I never put in a claim for the RV. It was below my deductible.

Friends it pains me to make this post but I may have to start a fund me account. With the flooding that occurred earlier this year much of the corn crop was destroyed. I know you’ve heard the song,
Sun makes corn
Corn makes Whisky
Whisky makes my baby,
Feel a little Frisky.

Well that’s not the problem, I was in Walmart earlier today where they are selling 50# bags of deer corn, last years price $7.48, this year $10.98.

No whisky, no deer corn. What’s a country boy to do?

Tim, youíre lucky it only went up 68% (if my math is correct). The 3/4 inch EMT pipe that I use to support shade cloth went up 102% in 9 months!

Two days after using about 20 pipe to make morning shade for Connie a HUGE wind storm yanked the tiedowns out of the ground and threw the awning on top of Connie. Twelve pipes were mangled. It also ripped the hoop shed tarp in half.

This repair has been pricey!
