A auto repair shop next to the first pharmacy I worked at sold it. The mechanic came over to get cokes and snacks daily and said he used it to clean up old clunkers.

Really thought it was great on his arthritic hands. He died in his 50s from liver cancer. (Sad but true)

DMSO:

Dimethyl sulfoxide is an organosulfur compound with the formula₂SO. This colorless liquid is an important polar aprotic solvent that dissolves both polar and nonpolar compounds and is miscible in a wide range of organic solvents as well as water. It has a relatively high boiling point.

Thanks Carl. I didn't realize this was a trade name or I could have looked it up!

I thought PITA1 and PITA2 were bandying about Colloquialisms from the deepest south or a reasonable proximity thereof.

Hey Moose! Port Alberni's railroad is being featured on a Public TV program just now. Great trains & a view of the town. The steam powered MacClain (sp?) mill is included.

What a place!

Well you and Wayne can argue about which PITA gets to be 1 and which gets to be 2.

Sue, the trains and mill were axed by the new mayor and the film has to be better than three years old as it was about then that the run and mill were shut down.

Yep, that 99% stuff was the dangerous stuff. Good cleaning solvent for metal parts.

Ions ago while stationed at Camp Lejeune, we cleaned our rifles, pistols, and motor vehicle parts in tryichloroethylene (TCE). Never fazed us putting our hands in the liquid and cleaning parts. Bad stuff.

New Tourist Attraction in Southern Vancouver Island.

Denise and I were at a loss for something to do besides shopping and being the day was young and very sunny we decided to take in a newly opened tourist venue.

The view out toward the Victoria Airport and City of Vancouver way in the distance.

https://malahatskywalk.com/

The experience was way too much fun and the walk is very easily done even with a sketchy heart and wonky knees. We plan to do it again next time we get to the Island. Would totally recommend to anyone who has been thinking of trying the place out.

Dennis, don't visit his deer stand. When no one was in it, it fell to the ground. No telling what it would do if his beef and yours were to climb up into it. Now if it is just the mountain top, well, still be careful.
