Tim,
Although we did not stay in an RV park in RI when we were visiting our Son, we did take a drive around the area. I remember one campground that we visited that we thought we would stay at if ever in the area again.

Check out Fishermen's Memorial State Park and Campground in Narraganset, RI. Read the reviews on campgroundreviews.com. Some areas are difficult leveling according to some posts. It is a State Park.

Tim, I use Google Maps to get look at a city or area. Once I bring the map up on my big screen here I use the left pane of Google, delete what it says in the search pane and put in "rv parks" without the quotes. As I drag the map around I click on "search this area." Then go to reviews for any CG's i'm interested in. RI has several RV parks doing that search, probably more.

He could stay at that RV park you had me check out (even though it took me like 3 tries to make it there). That's right on the border of CT/MA/RI and he could easily traverse to any of the area things to see using that as a starting point. It's not very far in any direction, like maybe an hours drive from that campground to the bottom shore of RI (maybe a little longer, but it can't be much). Everything is pretty close together in that general vicinity.

It's like a mile or so off I-84 eastbound. You could easily go to RI as a day trip, visit the casinos in CT (if you like that sort of thing), you'd be about 2 hours (maybe a little less) from Boston.

The campground is in a nice remote area just north of the CT line in MA. No big city lights, traffic, etc. in that immediate area.

Maine Trip

For folks traveling into the northeast, it would pay well to have the EZPass for your RV/toad since you can save quite a bit in tolls if you happen to go through some. I know folks that pay attention to the maps can avoid most tolls, but there are some that you just can't avoid and direct billing is always a lot more than using the EZPass (or equivalent if accepted).

Good points, Carl!

We have gone from PA to Paw Hawbaw and beyond many times in the early 1990s and many more.

We did toll fees until 2001 or so when it got $$ then we took back roads (that I can’t recall). The crowds before Maine got terribly tight and slow, so we found other ways to “get there” in equal time and light traffic. GPS made it simple!!

Road Island was good fun! But we camped in (usually) Eastern Connecticut: better chance for good camps, and not far from RI.

Cheers

Lol….. Weed., California was a very small town, deep in a valley, as best I remember……
Smile all I remember is. RR track, and seeing Mt Shasta from the other side.

Weed is a city in Siskiyou County, California, United States. As of the 2020 Census, the city had a total population of 2,862, down from 2,967 in 2010. There are several unincorporated communities adjacent to, or just outside, Weed proper, including Edgewood, Carrick, and Lake Shastina. These communities generally have mailing addresses that use Weed or its ZIP code. Weed is about 10 miles (16 km) west-northwest of Mount Shasta, a prominent northern California landmark, and the second-tallest volcano in the Cascade Range.

Weed's city motto is "Weed like to welcome you".[3] Weed has frequently been noted on lists of unusual place names.[4]

But then I figure you know all of that….

Good Morning
