Thanks Wayne. I will look up Fish Place and give it a try. I spent a couple of nights in Channelview visiting my late wife's brother. And am now visiting my brother in LaPorte. It had been a few years since either of us had been to Topwater Grill. Living near Austin I do not get many chances for fresh seafood.

If you like Mexican food, Gringo's in Texas City is good. It's off of Emmit Lowry Expressway about a mile U-turn. Visit the Texas City Dike ($10 fee) and is billed as the worlds longest man-made fishing pier. If you want fairly inexpensive but good Mexican food there are two restaurants in TX that are good, Taqueria El Jaliiense and Taqueria Villarta. Villarta has more menu items to include shrimp. My favorite, along with fajitas, is #4 on the menu.

Depending on how long in the area, if you are traveling to Galveston, Kelly's Restaurant just off I-45 in LaMarque has great food and the price is right. (Serving sizes are large)

Seems strange I know all the eating places, but I have to maintain my shape.

Ron be cautious about Waynes suggestions. We spent a week down there and he took us to a gas station to eat!

I read on the internet that gas station food was high society eating for Akies

after 2 weeks in Shipshewanna eating Wayne and Earlene's cooking I have gained at least 10 pounds

and speaking about gas stations, we passed 1 that had 2 EV charging stations with horse and buggies tied to both of them

You get what you don't pay for! What do you think. I'm going to feed you for free! That gas station was $2 expensive.

Thanks all for the warnings about getting suggestions from Wayne on places to eat. Forewarned is forearmed. Not staying long on this visiting trip but will keep those suggestions in mind. I lived 15 years in Angleton, 15 years in Houston. Then 15 in Austin, 15 in Round Rock, Now 6 in Taylor. I always like going back to the coast and eating fresh seafood.

I just looked and both Earlene and I have them. Hers are prettier than mine but that just strands to reason that I have to say that.

Okay, slowly improving on a week to week basis.
