You are doing GREAT you Sick Twisted Mutants (AKA STMs)
Keep throwing Steve good stuff like that.
I'm thinking a perso that can save a chicken is unique and a hero.
Steve started this thread from my post. I think he is a hero for get us all together.
I am about to make Pronto Pups, AKA corn dogs, but mine are gluten free.
Pronto Pups are a favorite at the Minnesota State Fair. And I know that this simply thrills the crap out of all of you.
Okay, Steve! Folks are giving you their best RMV cheers and encouragement. All you need to do is get better, pal.
Dave

I do some flowers... but what floats my boat is growing veggies from seeds in my house to mature eatable things from my yard. One of my many life mottos has been to "grow all I can and can I all grow...."

I have a knee surgery date!!!
I was beginning to think I would have to give up on getting new knees until next summer or risk missing the GC@CL (NEVER!) but Ta Da! Feb 5th I get 2 new knees.
That is 9 weeks of recovery time and 2 weeks to make the trip to Hot Springs. Totally doable.

And thanks to Steve's experience, I got my first ever flu shot today. No nasty H1N1 is going to darken my door.

Thanks all. I'm hanging in there. Most of the flu seems to be on the way out and the fight is mostly with the bronchitis and breathing.
I really appreciate all of your support and hope none of you have to suffer through this flu. I think I count 3 mutants who have gotten the flu shot. I hope those work for you. As I mentioned before - I never took a flu shot before - but from here on the forms at me!
Marty - thanks for saving the chicken! Nobel work.
DaveDeb -- have a great trip to warm weather.
All - again - I really appreciate you. Will check back soon.
RVM2 -- Steve --
Annie says thanks too!!

Okay, we have 3 RVMs that say they got the flu shot, when before they had not.
How many RVMs do NOT get flu shot?
I had the flu. About 2001. I was in bed for 10 days. I sweated thru my pillow. First I was afraid I would die. Then I was afraid I wouldn't. But I did not. Got flu shots ever since.
What is your story, you STMs?

I can't speak for Barb - but as a for instance - the RN that signed me into the ER on Sunday had the flu shot in Oct and the flu in December. You hear this kind of story every year - never had the shot or the flu - got the shot and then the flu. And so on. Then - since I work from home - and we aren't around kids - we look at our exposure incidence as being low.
I think once you actually contract the flu - you realize just how deadly it can be and how awful it is. I just don't want to ever go through this again.
I need to be quiet again. Thanks all. You lift my spirits!

Normally always get shot. When I was working it only made good since, I was constantly around sick folks(not mutant)! This year Mary and I have just procrastinated till now!
Way too many reports of severe illness and deaths reported this year to let it slide!
